Clash of Dragons...

is what this game should be called now. The last few Clan Wars my clan has been in has been nothing but dragon attack after dragon attack. At least when big bombs werent buffed there was some variation with some hogs here and some dragons there but now Dragon Dragon Dragon Dragon. My clan cant handle this madness!

I'm TH8 maxed Defense lvl 6 Air Defense and just got roflstompwned by some dude with dragons. I know what yall are gonna say....

I'm not looking for dragons to get nerfed or hogs to go back to what they used to be but could we please get some freaking variation in this mother loving game?

until u get that 4th Air defense, and xbows that can shoot the stars outta the sky, dragons will continue to wreck u...

at 9 it atleast may be dragons, may be loons, could be gowipe, or even gowiwi...
i seen a couple valks thrown in, but i laugh at valks so yea..

if u want variety goto th9 thats where the game starts to open up.

My clan seems very different from everybody's. Well have people using mass drag, hogs, balloons and gowiwi for our top guy.

At town hall eight you need to make it so all three ad cover the town hall and are on different sides of it in a triangle with the town hall in the middle.

People just feel like hogs are impossible to use now so they switched over to the next easiest strategy, mass dragons.

I'm just 1 day away from moving to TH9, just cant come fast enough! I got my 2 xbow gold ready and elixir rdy for my spell factory and lab. Can't wait

That is the reality of TH8, now Hogs get blown up faster Dragon is by far one of TH8s best weapons.

This, however changes significantly when you reach TH9, as not only do you get another Air Defense - you can put your two new X Bows to air support as well. So you'll just have to wear it until then.

At that point any of the following tends to happen most in my experience, Mass Dragon, Mass Hog, Bloonion, Dragloon, GoWiWi, GoWiPe and occasionally other mixes of Valks, Giants, Healers or Wizards.

They used the second best elixir troop in the gamew, and the best flying elixir troop in the game.

The max air defense level is 3/4 the max, and the number is 3/4 the max number, for 9/16 if you multiplied them. Almost half.

You may say that the "almost half" is not accuratte whatsoever, but it is true, you are twice as likely to get ripped to shreds.

Your base is much smaller, and you have no x-bows, and not even the maximum amount of air defenses than a th10 or even a th9.
You are just as likely to be mashed by dragons as by GoWiPe.

Also, playing CoC on computer will get you banned, as it violates the ToS.

I sympathise, while that is a good TH8 base. If one of the opposing TH9s hit you - you don't have much chance. against +25 troops, +1 spell & Queen.

Your using a Hog ring to stop hogs and have Air Defs well placed. But having Wizard Towers, Archer Towers & Teslas exposed really weaken your Dragon defense. Dragon users can absorb hits on the outside, saving a mass raging for once they reach the middle.

Ideally to stop dragons you need Air Defenses hitting them while the Dragons are hitting your other defenses to force early rage usage.

But of course, to place such defenses better you have to break your hog ring. And as a TH8 you can only set one double giant bomb trap making it very risky.

When you know how you attack such bases yourself, it's easy to see why it's either all Dragons or Hogs at TH8.

Edit: One thing I notice is your black air bombs are inside your core. Once Dragons reach the core it's too late and the bombs often kill Dragons near death anyway - devaluing them. IMO it is better to place them with your point defenses where Dragons most commonly attack. If you can kill two dragons early with them it is a huge table turner.

Agreed this type of junk is what happened to hogs (never used or cared for them btw) and am a TH8 and i expect to get wrecked by most TH9s but dont have much of a problem defending TH8 drag attacks people cry way way too much

Use drags. They are fun. A few rages. Or splash in a few loons.

before the update, there were threads whining about hogs. "Hog Wars". then they nerfed hogs and then everybody whined about that SC killed hogs.

Now you are complaining about dragons too? "Clash of Dragons" ? Really??

Acutually,it was hogs and gowiwi only before the update.Be glad that you got GoVaPe!!

I have been saying this all along.

Since the last update, only two strategies are used in clanwars, Mass Dragons and GoWiPe.
All other strategies have pretty much vanished in clanwars from our experience as a clan.

Our clan has 15 TH10, 20 TH9 and a handfull of TH8, our opponents are about the same strength.

This update is such a piece of cr~p, I'm still very angry with SC.

I hope they change something in the next update, so at least CWs are more entertaining.
At the moment it's just a boring experience and I totally loved CWs before the last update.

Meh, my base still has been trampered by hogs sctually (Mainly 2 stars only ad I'm just too lazy to rebuild and I switched to a non-anti-hog base after update). I've never been attacked by drags. But I might make a anti hog base eventualy and see if I get dragged more

It's pretty much balanced with its cost and camp space and training time(the cost especially)
Ps: if this were nerfed another tactic will just pop up go and complain about that then

These complaints are getting old. It's like a person getting stabbed by a knife and tells the judge: "Your honor, he used a very common tactic to wound me and i'm unhappy. Everyone stabs me with a knife these days!! Have some variation please! Use guns or a katana or something to hurt me, stop using knives!!!"

Have you tried using Dragons on Clan Wars? You do know that it's not that easy to 2-3 stars a base with Upgraded Air defense, it takes a lot of planning (Placement and Correct Spells) as Dragons do not target a specific building, sometimes they go around the base while being hit continously by Air Defenses.

Everyone knows the powerful combos in CoC. GoWiPe/Wi require more work to get the multiple troops to higher level so people are left with combos that use smaller number of troops like balloonians with two and hogs/dragons with one. As hogs got nerfed for a good reason it took one option of the table.

next update: air bombs and air mines 1.5x damage to dragons!!

I have no doubt that all the people whining about drags are the same people who were here whining about hogs...careful what you (general) wish for, you just might get it. Bring on all the complaints now about how any idiot can just spam mass drags, throw a few rage spells, and 2/3 star any base - it's like Groundhog Day on here :rolleyes:

Gowipe is what i used at th8....i could 3 star practically any th8 i see.

lol, you invested a lot to destroy a TH8. For me, like everyone hate/complain, I can 3 stars most TH8 with either hogs/dragons. I guess i am one of the reasons there are so many cry threads on forum. Anyhow, i still use hogs more often, because faster and cheaper. I don't want to waste too much of my farming time.

Yes, that would make me feel a lot better. Variation! Something Different! So many other combinations to use but since Dragons are so easy to just put down and walk away that's the first thing people go to now.

You are wrong, you can't just put down dragons and walk away. First, you need to stick around to use your rage spells. Second, you need to keep touching your screen to avoid it from going to idle.

In a majority th10 wars it has been a mix of: hogs, massdragon, balloonian and gowipe/gowiwi lately. Hogs have been less frequent after the nerf. Problem for th8-9 to use golem led combos is the high price of the army when it comes to dark elixir and the time&resources it takes to get high level dark troops. Thay pretty much leaves you with massdragon and balloonians. If you have not upgraded your minions balloonians gets tougher. So what is a th7-8 to do? My guess is build a army of flying lizards.
