Would retiring at this point of the game be okay?

So I have be playing COC for about 6-7 monthes now. I am TH8 and still have a few monthes worth of upgrading to do. I have been thinking about this for awhile and have finally decided that I would "retire" from this game as a TH8. But, I mean something a little different than what many of you are probably thinking. By retire, I mean ending the farming aspect of this game. It has started to feel like a grind and lost that exciting feeling I used to get. I was thinking of just staying at TH8 maxed and no longer worrying about upgrading town halls or anything. I know with every TH, you get more good stuff, but would TH8 be a stupid place to stop at?

I think so - th9 maybe but you get picked on a lot still at th8.

It's your gaming experience, you can do whatever pleases you.

Having said that, TH9 and TH10 have a lot more goodies (both offense and defense) that make the game more fun in my opinion, but if you don't like to farm, then being a premie TH9/10 would not be much fun, and in that case, you're probably better off staying as a maxed TH8.

It's a shame wasting possible progress though, considering you'd still be playing the game, just no longer progressing.

Fair enough. I was just wondering because if it would be better to stop at TH9 I would hang in there a bit longer.

Do you think I would have more fun if I just went to TH9 and retired there?

If the game isn't fun for you nobody forces you to stay playing and farming. Leave if you want, if the game isn't enjoyable for you don't lose your time.

Whenever you prefer to retire.

Personally, if I was to do what you are doing, I'd stop at TH9. The reason is, you will probably keep raiding for fun and since there are two new wall levels unlocked at TH9, your time will not go to waste. And if you ever decide to keep going, you'll have a good amount of your walls finished just by having fun.

But if you stay at TH8, there is not a lot of stuff you can dump your gold into. If you ever decide to start playing like you used to, you might find yourself frustrated that you have been sitting on a maxed TH8 with full storages for over 6 months or so.
Additionally, since you might be sitting on a lot of gold as TH8, you'll be a prime target for TH9s. Even if you stop caring, I am guessing it is not a whole lot of fun seeing your destroyed village every time you exit the game.

But if you are not having any fun at all anymore, just quit, take a break and come back once you feel like it.
