Yeah, SC AI has a real problem with switching targets (the well-known xbow glitch for example)
ugh its worse when 10 or more archers do that.....while been hit by a defence building right beside them :(
Little do you guys know that this is a trick question! Yes, there are in fact 2 problems in this picture. 1. The fact that the WBs decided to break 5 walls in the inner layer. 2. The obvious archer attacking the wall with nothing in it.
Seriously, why should that lady walk over to shoot at the storage when there is an archer tower close by which would kill her? :o
GOlems look cooler but archers and other troops who attack nothing would be even cooler if they fixed them first before introducing new ♥♥♥♥ to attack nothing.
besides the archer...the wbers opened a HUGE hole. I still have problems with this...when the hole is open...sending additional wbers will just make it bigger.
There should at least be a better way to pick target when they drop, if you click to a few mm to either side of where you want them to aim at first, they ignore and wander off to attack a ... shed!
Barbs and archers seem to be the dumbest.
That is one of the reason I proposed to have a pre-target symbol to signal where your troop will go here as the current AI has little to nothing to do with knowing but rather with... dammit 1mm to far = attacking wrong building which is especially horrid for people with thicker fingers playing on an IPhone.
For it to be stupid, then the arguement will no doubt be that the archer is trying to break that wall in order to get the the building behind it. The building was presumably still intact when the archer starting firing.
However...it's an archer that has a ranged attack...and so it should just move closer and attack the building direct.
The other theory I have is that the building within the 5x5 walls was already destroyed, but the WB hadn't blown through the inner walls when the archer started firing at the t-junction....in which case, it's not stupid. Well done Archer for going for the T-Junction!
The stupid part is that it continues to fire at walls, when a better path has subsequently been opened.
Maybe there should be a cycle to the targetting, so that it will move off without needing to kill/destroy the target it currently has first.
I always love my archer to run to the enemy ( which stands behind the wall in perfect firing range) and jump over the wall....
that doesnt matter. even if there are wizard towers and archer towers nearby, the troop AI is supposed to target the next easiest target, and in this case, this archer is hitting a wall for no reason. there is nothing behind it. theres a storage just a few steps away.
