One other thing I wanted to talk about that I know a lot of Town Hall 9's struggle with is how to take on town hall 10s. I put together a good video illustration of one approach for 2*'ing TH10s as a TH9. This has huge strategic implications if you can do this on the first attack...by 2*'ing a TH10, you free up TH10 attacks to go and hit lower bases...In clan wars (at our level), the game is at the TH9. Our TH9's can 3* these bases as well, but the TH10s have more tools at their disposal.

We have a couple approaches to them as well, and you'll be pleasantly surprised to know one particular loadout was capable of taking out the Golem Trap as well.

Hulk - we've been working on everyone's GoHo attacks and the practice wars have been yielding incredible results...we have guys in the 30+ rank hitting bases all the way up to #10.

hey hulk, i have recently started to war and i have been testing out new strategies
i have made an attack plan on this base but i'm not really sure if it will work nor if i'm scouting properlyAttachment 81867
just a reminder: i havent got my queen and my king is level 15 i really dont know if he, plus a golem, will be able to take both opponent heroes.

Any thoughts on how the new building HP changes affect hogs or holowiwi? Nerf, buff, or neither?

I`ve watched your videos and learned from your scouting strategies a lot for more than two weeks now. I`m in my mid TH9, Golem level4 , witch (level2 in two days), hogs (next in line after the witch), loons level6. Hit a wall using gowipe in clanwars always two stars, when lucky three stars. after learning and trying your scouting techniques, counting balloons and stuff, ive been pretty successful with three stars on mid th9 as well even if my hogs are just level4 (lol), I always end up using 12-16 hogs, 2-12 balloons, 1-2 golem, 3-4 witches on my CW raids, well it depends on the base, thanks to you man by letting us know not to rely on BRUTE FORCE. CHEERS!!
PS: BTW it works pretty well even after the update, but I usually double the loons in an (Single) Archer Tower to make sure that the archer tower will go down, I think the loons got a little nerf from the update IMO.

Thanks, Bro! This is an amazing post with very thoughtful ideas on how to scout and attack with a special combination of troops.
Since I entered Th9 for 2 months, I've been using dragloon or Gowipeloon for wars most of the time. While I got a lot of 3 stars with my strategy against mid TH9s, I also failed too many times when the opponents base layout are not suited to my strategy. When the enemy base get too many compartment, and the AD are not all located in the core, my strategy very likely end with a 2 star or even 1 star when luck not on my side.
However, with this holowiwi added to my strategy list, I may say I could face any kind of TH9 base with the confidence that 3 star can be achieved if dropping the troops and spell correctly. Hogs are extremely efficient in taking out the core when outer defense are taken by loons and CC/K/Q are attracted by Witch. I'll keep practicing this strategy until I can constantly 3 star any maxed Th9 base.

I'm sure you already know this but the xmas patch is causing a lot of headaches with the holo attackers...that minor HP buff for the archer towers and cannons pushed the level 10 defenses out of the 1 loon column.


One of our Holo specialists encountered this but luckily he had a backup plan and was able to pull through anyway.

Take note of the northeast and northwest gold cannons...each balloon dropped their bomb then crashed on top of them, but that's no longer enough to take those defenses out...pshhh

I am TH8 with lvl 5 balloons. Are there rules of thumb for how many balloons are needed for each tower?

For example, how many lvl 5 balloons does it take to kill a lvl 6 wizard tower?

How many for a lvl 10 archer tower?

Assume attacking a "spread" base so the balloons have to travel far.

I have been watching almost 20 to 30 videos of gohowiwi holowiwi and stuff..
needle holo swarm holo cold blooded holo..

I still do not get when should i do a GOHO and when should i do a HOLO?

Any experts here?
