Is rushing your Town Hall smart?

Is rushing your Town Hall smart?

Yes, and no. Here is the problem of rushing your town hall. Attacks are much harder, you will/most likely will get owned while trying to defend your base. Now, if you plan on staying on COC for hours and upgrading your defences to match your town hall, good luck. But mostly if you rush to TH 8 you will most likely get crushed. Because you don't get any "elite" defences your defending will smolder. Attacking, trying to get the elixer to upgrade your troops will be a pain because if all the loot changes so, with level 3 barbs your going to be getting very little loot.

But, obviously if you gem you might have a chance. If you pay over the 700$ its will take.

But, the lower town halls (1-7) you can rush from 4 to 5 and upgrage your troops to max your base, I recomend that. But at higher ones its 500k-1mil to upgrade one wall. So up to town hall 7, rush (if you like) after TH7 DO NOT, you will pay the price. Good luck! Keep clashing!

I rushed to TH 8. No problem. I think you shouldn't max TH 7 if you don't want to. But TH 8+, max it.

You have no idea how many noobs have come into my clan with awful bases all because they rushed. If you're short a couple walls, yes you can upgrade it, but if you have defences, a bunch of walls and troops that need upgrading then no. Don't rush. It's common belief that a high level town hall means everything, but it's the experience that matters. Why do you think clans are beginning to have level requirements? My clan immediately kicks out anybody that rushed because they'll pull us down in clan wars. I'd have to say no to rushing.

Well, at town hall 7 and below, you can upgrade a lot of things quickly and cheaply. I'm not saying rush your base at TH 8 thats bad but you can level a TH7 fat if you really try, I had already covers this btw ;)

I rushed, and I mean really rushed, to TH8 (think I had 1 wizard tower at like level 2, level 5-6 cannons, etc). I couldn't go more then 20 minutes after my shield went down before I would get owned. Eventually I got through it (only have 7 more upgrades for my defensive structures till I'm maxed), so it's certainly possible to dig yourself out of that hole, it just takes forever. But I wouldn't recommend doing it how I did it of course.

I would never do it as I'm a completionist, but as long as premature town hall players have their primary farming troops upgraded [barbs, archers, giants] they can progress just fine.

As long as they don't go all the way to TH10 - then they are screwed. But any up to TH9 can survive just fine.

I semi-rushed to TH 10 and honestly don't see a difference. I pretty much have max TH 8 defenses and some are max for TH 9. I have the third x bow and both infernos. Loot I just moved up to crystal league and I love the loot up there. I rarely ever get attacked too.

I'm maxed th8 besides walls and barracks and I get crushed by th9s so it has nothin to do with how maxed I even destroy th9s easliy so rushing is fine but don't rush to th10 that'sbad once there becuase of loot penalties you ccan't get good

If you don't war rushing doesn't matter. In a war though a th9 could 3 star a rushed th10 and that would be bad for the clan. Maxed th8-9 defenses isn't all too rushed for a th10 anyways though--at th10 inferno towers are a huge boost that makes it hard for th8s to attack. However you experience the loot penalty when attacking th9 or below, so you are getting less loot than you would if you hadn't rushed. Rushing isn't intrinsically bad, it just makes an important war stat (base difficulty compared to th level) lower. Rushing isn't smart, but also if you are casually playing there is no reason not to. In the long term it is smarter to max your th each level. Personally I find playing serious to be give me much more utility per unit of time spent playing.

There's "smart" rushing and there's bad rushing. Smart rushers make sure their core troops are upgraded as well as army camps. Defensively they maximize their splash (wiz towers/mortars) and get the key defenses at least per TH. As long as they have the troops to farm in their respective TH/league it's not so much an issue.

Never really was a fan of rushing as I tend to max everything out before upgrading to the next. Then again, walls start getting pretty ridiculous around TH8 (and especially 9/10) so sitting around with 5 idle builders just trying to max walls might not be the greatest use of time either.

Bottom line is it's your call, do what you want. I'd highly advise against gem rushing up to TH10 however. Saw a 10 once with wooden walls, lvl 2-3 defenses in everything with infernos and xbows. Army comp was at about 135 with a TH7 lab.

Noob rusher : just upgrade town hall without upgrading other thing
Smart rusher : upgrade town hall early with maxing farming troop, splash defense,etc.

Really? No, not everyone rushes the Town Hall. I am maxed TH 9, but finishing L9 walls and heroes to at least 20 before going to TH10. I maxed TH8 fully, which is why TH9 was done so fast, allowing me to focus on hero upgrades and walls. And guess what troops i have used to fund these exploits? Hint: troops that never touch the ground. My favorite base is one with really low level Air Defense, exposed air defense, ie on perimeter, and bases with air defense upgrading. In the case of the latter, the more upgrading the merrier!

For the record the first priority is max lab, camps, spell factory. Storage is important too. You should be farming the majority of your resources so mines and pumps are nice but far from important. Do them last.

Fantastic advice but you forgot to add that you should leave the collectors, mines and drills away from the base.

Rushing town hall is good if :

Before going to the next townhall, you MUST make sure that :

1) maximize your research on Barb, Archer, Giant, Wiz, Heal Spell, Balloon
2) maximize your splash damage (mortar,wizard tower)
3) all of your gold,eli and DE storage are full ( make sure your bank are full!!.)

Then , you can upgrade your town hall. Upgrading TH requires a lot of days. Therefore, during this period, upgrade your cannons or archer towers.

Reminder : You must get ready to be 3 starred rapidly.

My suggestion : If you are an active player, then Rushing TH with the above conditions is not bad.

Dont rush

Honestly u lose out on experience and knowledge on how to raid properly, it becomes very difficult to find good paying raids without spending a fortune and you will lose it all that you won when u get raided. If u do feel the need to rush dont rush past town hall 7 or 8 at the max. After town hall 8 loot becomes very difficult to find. a 250k raid become a lot of loot😢Ninjagizzmo@hotmail.com

Try reading this. His statement are strong for those who rush TH. I myself was convinced. The best part of rushing TH is that you can strengthen you're offensive capabilities. Never rush TH just to get Xbow. Always prioritize you're army after upgrading you're TH so that you wont have the loot penalty.

Rush to TH7 bro. farming with lvl 3 troops and missing one army camp is like tattooing your eyeballs. not particularly pleasant. the loot penalty only really kicks in at th8+

And why would you farm walls at TH9? That's dumb. Upgrade your town hall once you have idle builders. Inferno towers will help you keep your loot MUCH MUCH better than any level walls. Farm walls in the endgame (unless your walls are super sucky, then do em a bit) but not at the cost of upgrading buildings.

I started playing clash 3months back and rushed to TH9 with 5 builders...Everyone was criticizing me and I never looked back...fast forward now, I have completed my level 8 walls (skullies) currently working on level 9 (20pcs) while waiting for the other upgrades to finish. (2 xbows going up to 2 next week ^^,) Best thing is I already have a level 5 AQ and level 8 Bking which helps a lot during my raiding...it's the best thing....

The persons who were laughing at my decision not to max are still sitting down there at their gold maxing their townhalls with pink and purple walls..BKING at level 5 and waiting to be bullied by other higher THs

You can farm walls while upgrading buildings...just make sure your builders don't end up at the same time...

For example:

Builder 1 - Monday

Builder 2 - Wednesday

Builder 3 - Friday

That way, you have time to fill up your storage and empty it dry paying for your next upgrade while splurging on walls...I'm no expert since I only started playing COC last 3 months but I already completed my skullies and currently working on inferno walls while I'm upgrading my xbows to level 2. I'm a rushed TH by the way...
