watching witelightning is a good start but if ur not tryin to watch 20+ minute videos, the simple tips i can suggest
(used loons to push to masters, did alil farming in masters with loons, than went back to crystal to for easier farming)
in crystal 2-3 u can usually get by with 24 loons, 50 minions, i would literally jus drop 2 packs of 2 loons (so use 4 total) to pick off an archer tower, or wiz tower near the edge, take em out / lure cc also than wave the rest of the loons on the farthest side from AQ, unless that side has an abnormal amount of air defs.... then i'd do a quick wave of 30 minions behind the loons real quickly...
those other 20 minions should be used to handle cc or if an AQ is on an edge, and also used to pick up spare buildings for that % since the goal here is 50%... ofc is u have a real shot at also getting that TH drop dem minions for that 2star.
use rage to handle air defs, and inferno towers, in c2 and c3 u can prolly get away with no spells or 1 spell used if u look for the right bases...
around the higher end of c2 into c1 u will need to start bringing 28 loons... and u will prolly need to start dropping 1-2 spells.
this is pretty much the same for me into masters... i've seen kids use 32 loons, but i think sometimes u need more minions that u need mini-tanks ...
lastly i'd recommend rolling in with 2 lightnings, and 2 rages... lightning will help handle cc troops, and also if ur so close to that 50% but ur out of troops lightning to those hero alters or builder huts is a life saver.
i don't like heals on loons, simply because heals dont matter when gettin hit but inferno's, and theres no real advantage that heal gives over rage imo
