When is the ideal time to farm in clash of clans?

So recently I've been trying to determine at what time of the day would be the ideal time to farm in clash of clans. My assumption going in was that the best time would be when most people on the planet (since it's an international game) are asleep. So what time would that be? Well if you consider the Pacific Ocean, when it's night over it most people on the planet are awake and when it's day over it most people on the planet are asleep. So that would be right before Japan goes to sleep, and right before they wake up. Roughly like 9pm and 7am their time. Which is 7am and 2pm central time US (respectively).

So if you live in the central time zone and you want most of the rest of the world to be asleep, play at 2pm. If you want most of the world to be awake then play early in the morning (becuase japan hasn't quiet gone to sleep yet). If you want most of the world to have JUST gone to sleep, play in the late morning-early afternoon (because that's when India would have just gone to sleep.

So before I considered these times I actually was testing this out myself, It does seem to me that loot is better between the hours of 12pm and 2pm. When most of the world has JUST gone to sleep and then is mostly asleep. And then if you keep farming throughout the evening more and more of the world would have JUST gone to sleep. By 4pm (central time) most of Europe will have JUST gone to sleep.

Moral of the story, don't farm in the morning. ;)

This is an intresting topic and i would like to hear more views on this if possible .

I am from India myself and i find the best time for me to farm is between 6:30 AM to 10 30 AM GMT.

The worst loot i find is in the evenings when most people from Europe and the USA are awake and loot drops off quite badly.

Central time zone here. I've found that for me late morning and early afternoon is terrible for some reason while loot seems to improve later on in the day and continues to improve late at night.

These are my findings as well, and by like 2pm most of the world from the UK to Japan is asleep. So it supports my theory that you want to play when the most amount of people are asleep. But IDK about starting RIGHT when Japan falls asleep, cuz that would be like at 7am central. So I think you want to wait several hours for loot to build up from the people who went to sleep, which is why 2pm makes more sense.

So start your barracks boost in an hour and see if I'm right, Japan has been asleep for 6 hours roughly. And keep playing until the UK has been asleep for a few hours.

Your premise is wrong. Supercell has gone on the record to say they lower probability of you rolling a lucrative abandoned base in favor of an base from an active player. Having that that, it stands to reason when MORE people are online and are NOT available to be raided, you stand a higher chance of rolling a rich abandoned base with full pumps, meaning the best time to raid may be when MORE people are online.

EST here. Loot is juiciest in the evenings for me, mornings are just a grind to get through.

I am from India and for me the best time to farm is from 10 P.M - 2 A.M (local time). Average is 1 mil per hour with BAM as a TH9.

This topic has crossed my mind before but i havent put that much work into it. Nice job though trying to figure up when most of the world is asleep. I never can really tell, to me it just seems like its hit and miss anytime, but i have never actually kept a log of my raids. Which i might just do now that u have me thinking more indepth about it. But really it wouldnt change my raiding any, because i usually just raid anytime i get the chance. lol

First, proofread your posts by reading through it at least once. I miss stuff sometimes but it looks like you didn't even read through it once before you posted.

Second weather they say that the probability of finding a lucrative abandoned base is lower or not, experience wins out here. Also you need to consider that an "abandoned" base may not actually be a player who quit the game. At lvl 11 it takes collectors exactly 50 hours to totally fill up, that's only TWO days. That's not long at all, these "abandoned" bases may just be more casual players bases, and therefore not lower in the search priority.

Also you need to consider that if a lot of people are online then most of those people are also looking for that collector raid just like you, and therefore the odds of one appearing are lower, because they're being taken.

Okay, I've made some pretty quick and independent research (didn't read other posts about this subject, just got really stressed after spending 50k+ gold looking for a good base and decided to do some research) starting from the point that when less people is online, then more bases (of different kinds - abandoned or not) are available and you get more chances to find one base good to attack.

I picked up 4 time-zones with the biggest population (there's no data of coc players sadly). USA zones are not that populated compared to India and Asia, but they account for a huge number of players, so they're in.

Then I picked 4 different key times for each time-zone: When kids (by kids i mean less than 17 lol) are at school, when kids are out of school but adults are at work or university, when everybody is heavily raiding and when everybody is sleeping.

Then I compared those times on each time-zone. I made the analysis based on CET time (GMT+1) but with the table I made you can make the analysis for your time-zone and even divide the time periods that I choose into smaller periods and make an even deeper analysis, but this is not the case. Just a damn game...

The result is shown below.

I'll start trying to raid at this specific time, if it doesn't work, I'm going to analyse periods of 2 hours in each country :P.

I'm usa eastern time. In the morning it's hard for me to find loot but at night around 10:00 pm it a lot better. An weekends it drops a little

This is all interesting but I think you should strongly consider how shields factor in.

Lets say I check my village twice a week. Inactive right? Well right after I check my base, it'll put me on the top of the attack que. Boom, I get wrecked and get a shield. It wont be until atleast 12 hours later when my loot is raidable. Thats when the mines and collectors sweeten the pot.

So it'll be 12 hours after the average inactive player gets online.

Gmt +1 here, where unsure about koyro's result. I find farming more effective the later on the day I am. Might just be my brains thoughts though. Pretty sure that raiding is more effective in the weekends.

Just last week, I was farming at exactly GMT 10am. It proved extremely sucessful and I raided about a million of each res and 1000 plus DE. However, this week, it has suddenly started to fail badly and the loot, gold spent on searching was drastically decreased and increased, respectively. The "Golden Hour" (which is GMT 10 am) had lasted for about two weeks at Silver I. In a survey by me and my friends, we all noticed the considerable dip in farmable bases recently. Hence I am out looking for another "Golden Hour" which would be great if I do find one. I have three alternative accounts, which deem rather useful for "probing" at many different leagues at different times of the day. In overall, this cannot really be determined not fixed forever. It seems logical though, as the "Raid-time cycle" fluctuates depending on players. If most players are raiding at a certain timing and the bases are given shields, some time periods and gaps will form, and it gradually starts to make a noticeable gap. Even if the cycle is being thrown off by a base of two, it would not be affected, as other players will offset the same base again and sooner or later join back the time period. It's like a cycle that is fixed. However, when a large enough change happens or enough offset is accumulated, there will be a sudden change, and extremely sudden. This is because such a big change will completely change the cycle and shift the whole cycle to some other time at some other league, after all since the cycle is based on the majority. Given the mass of players in COC, the gap will not take long to form again. This shift takes about 1-3 days to be noticed.

In conclusion, the "Golden Hour" cannot be fixed and if continuously changing.

I'm in the central time zone USA and from experience I have found that I have better luck farming after around 10pm on Sundays through Thursdays, and early in the morning on Sundays. I assume that the farming is better on Sunday mornings because most people are in church or sleeping in from the night before. Also, on week days I usually have good luck again around 1pm, but that isn't always the case and it doesn't last for very long.

Another thing to consider could be holidays. I have found really good luck with farming on some holidays. Last Easter I made a killing. I assume this is because people are traveling or visiting family and are away from their normal WiFi connection and spending more time visiting people instead of playing on their phone.
