I got golem first just because I wanted to try gowipe at th8. However if i could turn back time I would get wiz first.
Always troop upgrades before barrack upgrades...

really all depends on what you use the most golems are good for clan wars and so are wiz i would probably say wiz because they can be used to farm more de which will let u upgrade your golems once you get themQuote:

Quick question. I dont have witches or golems yet. How much is one GoWiWi attack
Level 5 wizards are an extremely good upgrade, they get a huge boost and especially for TH8 they are the most powerful troop for offense / defense. You don't get better until TH10, and level 6 wizard is, by comparison, a meager upgrade.
Golems are good, but really only useful once you max them for your TH level, which takes quite a lot of effort. And golems with level 4 wizards (or archers) behind is just silly... In fact, you really need an Archer Queen behind your golems, for best effect - I used golems a bit at TH8 once (in Crystal), but for me they were really just a way of farming that used a lot less elixer than giants (once I had DE to spare).
I'd go Wizards so you can do Giant-Wizard to farm DE and GiWiPe will most likely be good enough for you case so you won't need GoWiPe, plus you can save on some DE
