How. Do You Run Your Shop?

I realized this morning that I have fallen, without planning, into a pattern of running my shop.

i have twelve slots, which for now seems enough.

the bottom row is stocked from my silo. I usually sell in lots of ten at the basic price. I try not to have the same product in more than one box.

the top row is stocked from the barn. I only sell eggs and milk if I have a serious overstock problem as I find they tend to sit too long. I sell building or land expansion items one at a time, at max price, often using them as my advertised item to bring the buyers. I sell saws and hatchets one or two at a time though they don't seem to bring in as much cash as they should. I fill remaining slots with manufactured items in ones or twos. I know that I am often looking for one pie or two popcorn and I really don't want to buy ten.

If I think of it, I will stock my store without advertising to give my friends a chance before I open it to the world.

This routine seems to work well, though I sometimes get lazy and leave the shop nearly empty for a while.

I would be interested to hear how others stock and run their shops.

I don't put any thought into it. If I want to sell the item, it goes into the stall

If I think about it, I think my top row is of silo items. I mostly sell wheat in pack of 10 for 20c. That seems to sell quick. I also sell blackberries, raspberries, cocoa at max price which usually neighbors buy. For barn, I sell mostly strawb IC, Popsicle, jam, different cakes. Even if I have x number of each, I put only one of each as I like to help most people at a time. I usually like to let the neighbors have the first pick and mostly advertise crops. Sometimes this is the only way I can help my neighbors, as their boat orders are hard for me to fill. I don't like hoarding, so I sell throughout the day whatever I make other than truck and boat orders.

Right now I've stopped truck orders as I need to raise money for jeweler. I only have 40K and need 120K for it.

I stuff my store with wheat for base price. Advertise when wanted.
When I'm in a good mood I stock my store with nice goodies. Butter, cream, juice, mallets and things like that. One or two of each. Those I dont advertise. They are for my neighbours.

My top row is for silo and bottom row is for barn items.

I sell crops in packs of 10.
If I sell milk, bacon, goat milk they go per 5, eggs and bread usually per 10, popcorn per 4, cornbread per 3, the rest of the products per 2. I sell barn, silo and land items per 2, saws and axes per 3.
Forgot animal feed, I always keep 5 of each, the rest I sell, this varies from 2-10.

I usually don't advertise anymore, except when I really really really need some room in barn or silo, once a week or so.
I never sell anything full price, except for the hardware.

Basically I sell what's abundant in my silo/barn.
I also rarely sell eggs unless I have nothing to sell and I need to advertise (since I'm aiming to achieve Citizen Kane). I sell wheats in default price and others I reduce a bit.
I usually stock 5 of each good stuff (jams/ice creams/pies) so anytime I got more than 5, I usually sell them. But not sugar & dairy products :D
I came to realize that mallets almost worthless so I usually sell those too.

This is what I usually do. from 9 am to 8 PM, every 3 hours, I do what I call "Wheating my farm" where I mainly plant all my wheat and when my silo is full of wheat I put them on my roadside shop at default price, which is 10, right now I have 28 slots open (I plan on expanding more soon) then I fill my shop with wheat until it's full. Reason why I do this is because every 2 minute I always get one random items like barn/silo/land expansion materials, awe/saw/dynamite/tnt/shovels. While I wait every 2 minute I visit every farm to search for red tool boxes whether it's locked or not I always check every friend and most of the time it's successful and I always manage to get diamonds (Yes I have gotten 100+ free diamonds by doing this), vouchers, barn/silo/land expansion materials, and/or even coins.

Before going to bed. The first 30 minute to 1 hour after putting stuff on my shop I don't advertize at all. Then when the time comes I use my 10 B & E at max price to advertize my shop, and any left over goods anyone in the world can buy. When morning comes, my helper account then buys the B & E and put that B & E on my helpers account shop for Greg or Tom to come and get it.

I've pretty much explained on other threads of why I advertize B & E then any other item is because this way I have the full 3 hours of advertizing on my farm. If I say, advertized on something that sells well, like any cakes then it's likely to sell out fast and I'll be off the DD and I'd have to wait another 30 minute for a free advertizing.

One thing I never sell on my shop are Barn/silo/expansion items at all (well honestly I do but only when I have 5 over of what is required so say my next barn storage requires 25 of each bolts, planks, and tape, but I have 30/15/20 respectively, then I would sell 5 of the bolts on my shop unadvertized as I prefer only my neighbors have them), which infact I do this before I even advertize.

Also you will never see me selling axe/saw/tnt/dynamite/shovels as I tend to need them more often. So I never ever sell them. If my storage is getting full of them then I usually transfer it to my helper account as my storage as my back up incase if i run low on them.

I'm trying to finish off achievements so for me that's citizen Kane and the walk-in customers (patronage?)

When I get to the farm I advertise whatever is left behind or ill put something that will go fast...

Then I fill my shop with my usual (white sweatersx3, breadx6, chicken feedx9, shep pie etc plus whatever extras I have (extras are things I could get easily from the paper or land expansion items)
Usually ill check neighbours shops and farms to see if anyone is home and pick up anything I need (I have regular suppliers of sugarcane, soybean etc)
If it looks as if no one is farming (sleeping pets is the big clue lol) then I advertise again :) citzn Kane ugh!

If I could edit prices in the store I'd sell lower and put them up when advertised (fun if we could give friends a discount from the posted price) but for now I sell max price and everything goes (no B&Es lol)
I try to get an ad going every half hour or so, but I'm not very efficient :)

I keep whatever extra room I have in my shop (that which isn't full of berries, expansion items, or excess products) stocked with some sort of fast-growing crop. Usually corn. I fill my whole shop and silo, then advertise it when I can. As it starts to sell, I restock with the excess in my storage, and continue until it sells out (which takes only a couple minutes) or someone buys my advertised slot.
I find a lot of expansion items from all that harvesting and when I have 5 excess of any type, I sell those as well.
My prices are rounded down from max, unless I'm selling for my neighbors.

I mainly play on my phone so I only have a long row instead of 2 like people on iPads. I have 30 slots in my store that I used to sell quick growing crops for default price but as I'm playing less these days, crops are rarely sold and I only grow enough for my own use. I still sell cherries and cacao sometimes when I mass harvest. Rest of the time, I put up items in stacks of 10 when I have too many, I'm too lazy to put 5x2.

I have a few tips about working those 2 achievements. If you want to get Citizen Kane without getting too many followers, just advertise 1 single crop every 30 minutes. Wait with stocking your store until after that crop has been sold. That way, stuff will be in tore for nbrs without compromising ur achivement.

Tip for patronage is to stock up on wheat/corn in silo and eggs in barn. Visitors always ask for the 2 items you have the most of in silo and barn or asks for a random item you have none of. They pay around 11 coins for each egg so you can stock up on eggs by buying anything below that price and you'll still make a profit from it.
