I am currently a TH7 who is constantly frustrated by dragons. Whenever I use dragons, they take too much fire from lvl 6 air defence rendering my attack useless. I have tried 3 lightning, and rage spells. Please advise.

You should avoid low level dragons on bases with AD well upgraded.
Since you are th7, you can only have level 2 dragons, which are not that great. I think that if you are going to use dragons, only attack other town hall 7's and use 3 lightning spells to take out one their air defenses(strongest one) and drop your dragons closest to the other one. That is a guarenteed 3 star on any th7 no matter how upgraded it is. If you are going to attack th8's, I suggest that you use rage and just try to get the two star victory since you need level 3+ dragons to be able to 3 star their village.
