When to Use-
Using dragon is effective at all TH levels, but consideration must be given to Air Defense locations and against TH10 with the location of the Inferno Towers. Against TH10 with centralized Air Defenses dragons can be used to get 1 star.
Army Composition-
All dragons.
- Replace a dragon with 4 Balloons or Hog Riders if there are exposed Air Defenses
Clan Castle-
- Another dragon, extra spots with balloons or minions.
- Balloons
- Hog Riders
- Balloons and Hog Riders if there are exposed Air Defenses
Spells- 2 options for 3 different scenarios
- 3 Lightning Spells (TH9 add a rage)
- Use when one Air Defense is higher level or when one is centralized and others are more exposed, using balloons and hogs to take the exposed Air Defenses.
- Also used to 1 star TH10 bases by killing an Air Defense covering the most buildings.
- Combination of Rage and Healing Spells
- When the enemy base has no exposed Air defenses or when destroying just one Air Defense won’t weaken the base enough.
How to Attack- Everything but TH10 with centralized Air Defenses
- Lightning Spells should be used at the very beginning to destroy the most dangerous Air Defense.
- Pulling the Clan Castle
- Why? Dragons are great at killing Clan Castle troops and if you build troops to pull with you will have 1 less dragon to use in the attack.
- Deploying your Dragons
- Use a strategy I call bracketing. Bracketing is when you place 2 dragons several buildings apart, and then place all the other dragons in between them. The first 2 dragons once they destroy the building they are attacking will prevent all the other dragons from wandering off around the edge of the base.
- Deploy your balloons and hog riders after the surrounding buildings have started to attack your dragons and the opponents Clan Castle troops have all charged off to attack your dragons. Sometimes it is worthwhile to save 1 dragon just to distract the Air Defense while your balloons head in to destroy it.
- Hero’s are mainly for clean up of outside buildings or to attempt to kill an Air Defense that you just couldn’t get to.
How to Attack- TH10 with centralized Air Defenses
- Use your lightning spells to take out the Air Defense covering the most buildings
- Deploy your dragons all around the base, the goal here is to have the dragons wander all around the edge of the base and avoid the Air Defense and Inferno Towers.
Which side to attack from-
- You are at your strongest when all your dragons are alive and together. Look for the side where you can get to the Air Defenses quickly, even if this is the stronger side of the base.
- Do not try and attack from a side where there are storages between your dragons and the Air Defenses. It will take way to long for them to destroy the storages and your dragons will be dying the entire time.
What not to do-
- Do not put all of your dragons in 1 stack. This will lead to dragons wandering in any which direction and if the opponents Clan Castle has troops with AoE they can do a lot of damage very quickly to all of them.
