Advice for a new TH8?

Hello :)

Firstly, I have done my research for questions like this, but they all date back to last year, so things have changed a bit.

My upgrade to TH8 finished yesterday, much excitement! I had saved enough gold and elixir to start my new defenses except for the Hidden Tesla. I also got the new storage's. I currently have five builders doing their jobs, but I cant seem to keep a stable amount of gold income. When I was TH7, I was making at least 450-600k each raid. Now I cant find anything more than 200k resources! My current trophies are 1375 (the best loot i have ever found at th7.

I read somewhere else that a 'Dry loot spell' or something like that happens after clan wars. And its so expensive trying too look for matches too lol.

Any advice on new trophy ranges to go for? I also remember when I just upgraded to TH7, the look sucked for the first few days, and then I started seeing magic.

th8 should roughly be around 1600-1800 trophies. I am getting around 300-400 k resources per raid.

Is that just collector raids or storage raids? I don't have any lvl 5 troops yet so I don't want to attack anything too out of my league :). I saw a base with 400k of each, but that was a maxed out town hall 9. That's intimidating D:

Take the 200k, a 200k raid every 15 minutes is 800k per hour, once you get to th8 you can't get those 400k raids anymore.

I'm a TH8 and i'm farming skulls, try with 1200-1300, it's the best for me.

I maxed th8 before going to th9, now ive got a pretty decent th9.

In th8 upgrade your barbs, archers, and heal spells first. Farm around gold II or gold I. I do my best farming with barch and heal spells. If you can boost your spell factory and a couple barracks to raid more often. You should be able to get lots of 200-400k loot raids in.

I try to keep a builder busy on cannons, wiz, mortar, and ad. When your first round of cannon upgrades are done start that builder on archer towers. Then cannons again with teslas and whatever else is left finishing the last round of archer tower upgrades.

when all my buildings were upgraded I worked hard on walls and hero upgrades. Whenever u have enough de upgrade your king. Then in th9 really focus on lvling up your queen.

It worked for me :)

When i got to th8, I didn't even bother changing my base or upgrade my storages for a while; until your new defences are upgraded, I wouldn't bother to try to fit them in, and with the storages, the less you have to protect, then the more you concentrate defences around them.

I found that the best combo was 10 wbs, 90 barbs and 90 arch, 3 lightning spells, at around 1550-1700 cups, just looking for any raid that offered over 140k gold. I didn't even bother with elixir, because you quickly realize your gold upgrades are going to take much longer than all your elixir upgrades. I would just look for th7s with full storages, th8s with full storages but with weak defence, and not really even bother going for th9s with a decent base, because lvl4 troops wont do much at all. I would drop two lightning on the mortar/wiz tower closest to gold storage,clear out the outside buildings around the side your attacking, and with your barb king, just swarm that side, dropping some wbs. For a collector base, I'd just drop 5 arch and 5 barbs on each collector, then go for 50%.

dark elixir is much more difficult; what I did, was train a giant-healer army, and go for the th8s with a dark elix storage close to the outside. Spam goblins, amd your fine. Finally, if I did find a th9 or th8 with a lot of dark elix on my revenge list, I didn't hesitate to drop 3 lightning spells;chances are they probably wiped me out anyway.

But three lightning spells get expensive, as well as they take a long time to make, especially using the Barch strat. Im using 24 loons and 20 minions at the moment with 2 rage spells. The spells are done by the time the rest of the army is done, kind of efficient right?

I didn't mention, but you don't have to use the lightning spells on every attack;if there's 140k gold for example, you might not feel its worth it, but if there's a chance of getting 200k, then it might be worth it, even if you have to wait 90 minutes. Barch is generally good for all types of bases, whereas i found that balloons with minions arent that effective with a base with centralised air defence. On the other hand, balloons are good in that if you do find a weak base you can destroy it, while barch might not be able to get the 3 star

When you don't build the new storages and max them out quickly at TH8, any opponent has to get two storages of each resource only, which is easier. If you have three storages for each resource, chances are better that the attacker won't get all of your gold or elixir.

I am also a TH8 and I tend to sit in Gold 1. Currently I have 1850 Trophies. I always use BAM with 3 Lightning spells, and I always attack collector bases, if I boost my barracks, I can get about 1.25 mil gold per hour. I always use my minions last, just incase i need them to pick off a building or two so that I can get 50% and maintain my trophy count!

Dont stay at Silver 1 league. it's irrelevant now since it's the league for TH6-TH7

move up to 1500-1800 to got some easy gold/elixir or even de to farm

Loot changes and decreases after u upgrade ur townhall and u will have to use more resources to farm resources. In my clan th8 find good loot from 1400 to 1550. U will have to search more to find good loot, plus ur luck and wat time of day u raid does make a little difference. Happy clashing 😊
