I recommend using 1/4 barbarians and 3/4 archers. Gets all the loot, and maybe a couple heal spells if you need them.
fill 3 barracks with archers and 1 with barbs, farm in gold 3.
you can add few wallbreakers to your composition.

My army composition is a ratio of 2:1 archers and barbarians, ( I can hold 200 troops and I have 65 brbs and 135 archers), just use that ratio and it is a cheap and effective army, Good Luck and Clash On!!
I add 10 giants and 8 wall breakers in my barch.
At the end of TH7 I used 80 barbs, 110 archers, 5 wbs. It has worked pretty well for me. I'm still using the same comp at the beginning of TH8. Depending on how frequently you can attack I had another comp of 18 balloons, 10 giants, 40 archers, and 10 barbs that could basically take out any base 100% TH7 and lower but that is obviously more expensive (on the plus side I didn't need to use spells EVER). I think the key to farming is to just realize that you have to spend gold to find a good target, don't settle for an ok one.
