I have 4 builder huts lvl 51,th7. My clan mates think 4 builder huts enough becuse soon ill have to upgrade things using 2 mil in resorces. But instead of taking his advice, i am going with majority rule! So tell me 5 builder huts or 4?

5 is definitely better than 4, if you plan on being active.
I am a mid TH8 and during the summer I am still finding that it would be really nice to have 5 builder's huts but as soon as school starts I will probably only be able to keep 2 builders busy at a time. It really all depends on how much you can play. If you can play a few hours every day and lots on the weekend then definitely get the 5th builder hut.
Keep in mind that some of the later builds take longer, 5 builders would get the job done faster
How cool would it be if you could assign a second builder to an upgrade or a build to cut the time down
It depends on how much time and patience you have. I personally don't care if I have 4 or 5.
I have kept five builders going around the clock since I started playing this game, and I'm a nearly maxed out TH8 now. Before TH8, keeping five going all the time was a breeze, though it has been more difficult at TH8, where upgrades start to get seriously costly. Still, if you know how to farm, play frequently, and space your upgrades wisely (don't start five things that will all finish at once, or you will not have enough resources to restart all your builders again), then five builders is great. When I hit TH9, I'm certain I will get them all going on new projects at once! In the grand scheme of things, the cost of a builder means nothing to me.
Bear in mind later in the game the upgrades will start to take 10-14 days.
Nothing wrong with a bit of greedy. It's how for-profit companies make money. They don't have much to benefit from this feature anyways since, as you said, they'd lose money because long upgrades no longer feel long. There would also be some issues they need to work out like: Is it a linear scaling? What's the cost of removing that extra builder from working (since canceling an upgrade only gets 50% refund atm)? How much effort would it take to make this changes? Will this be too complicated for people to understand and therefore send more support tickets?
Judging by how they aren't putting in much effort to get more people on customer support, implementing a feature that would cut their revenue purely for the sake of happier gamers isn't likely to happen
On topic: Even though upgrade time goes up, the cost per duration increases significantly so if you're unable to keep 4 builders working now, trying to keep all 5 builders working later is much higher especially since looting gets harder as you level due to penalties
