I would use mass drags if you don't care about elixir. If you do, just TH snipe.
Barch, quick & easy.
Considering the lower leagues have a lot of farmers with exposed Town Halls, I strongly suggest you snipe them with a few Archers as an easy way of getting to Gold 1. Make sure you have a full camp of Archers before every attack because some trolls keep Hidden Teslas and traps next to the Town Hall.

Barching is very cheap, and has fast training time
I would use barch because its the cheapest strategy and doesn't take long to train, so you can do a few raids per hour, gaining more trophies.
Ive gotten to Gold 2, nearly Gold 1 using barch, so I would use barch.
