What am I supposed to upgrade other than elixir upgrades? Splash defense? Walls?
First of max your farming troops such as WB,Barbarians,Archers,Gobs and Giants.Also get your walls to LVL 6 or preferably 7.Now farm and max everything.That is what I did.
And I stop at th9? To start maxing everything

Im off to TH9 as fast as possible without being a premie. All I am doing is barbs/archers (loons when can) for troops. Then army camps, barracks and storages.
Defence doesn't matter when you never have gold for people to take.

Stop at TH9 until you have 2 xbows, queen and max(lv6) balloons, lvl5 healing & rage spells, then you can go premmie TH10...better store golds and elixer ready before TH10 finish to get Infernoes, xbows and upgrade spell factory.
Forget about upgrading defenses... don't worry, you'll have plenty of time and ressources to upgrade your defences in crystal leagues.
