Yes because it has lower graphics quality so the processor doesnt need to work as hard compared to the iPad 3/4.

Same as what I said before, the mini doesnt have to work as hard to produce the graphics which makes it appear as if the mini is faster but it really isnt.

the extra processing required for the retina display is phenomenal so that's why they function pretty much the same and also explains why the regular iPads heat up. i can't really fault my iPad mini..

Thanks for all the replies! I didn't think this thread would get so many responses so quick. I got the mini and I'm loving it. It is quite the upgrade from the iPhone 4 on CoC

Congrats! Either way it is a good choice. Definitely a huge upgrade from an iPhone, but ipHone comes handy too once in a while.

There's not that much between them in terms of graphics, I've seen both side by side. Apart from richer colours and deeper blacks, slightly, the actual graphics output is very close. You'd have to be really pixel peeping to notice any big difference. And unless you only play high end graphical games and only watch top end HD movies, the extra power is a bit of a waste tbh. CoC, for example, doesn't utilise anything near the full power of either, it's pretty basic in terms of graphics, so looks same on both.

As for size-wise. Anyone who thinks the mini is too small for gaming needs to get to their optician fast! :cool:
