We should be able to donate gold/elixer/dark elixer through loot requests. The request could be made through the town hall as it's own option called "request loot" in order to separate it from the classic "request troops" found as an option in the clan castle.
The amount of loot a player can hold through the request could be up to 50k of each standard resource, and 5k dark elixer per request.
Requests can be made every 45 minutes in order to avoid easy loot gain from rich clan members.
The amount of loot you can hold should vary upon your town hall level. With Town hall level 1 able to hold much less loot than a town hall 10.
The loot can be sent straight to the storage that holds that specific resource.
In my opinion, the ability to donate loot to your clan members can help the clan overall in defense, wars, and getting their trophy count higher.
