X-bows: Up or down?

I'm new to TH 9 and I am wondering when should the xbows be up or down? Does it really matter on your layout?

The third option should be: one up and one down. :(

Personally i keep mine both up since all 4 of my air defenses are level 6 and not the th9 max lvl 7, but once i get all air defenses maxed im going to try them both down, another pro of having them both up is they help against balloonian raids

Like the post above said, both up unless you have your air defenses maxed to take out epic air raids.

i think most of the times xbows facing down is the better option in most cases, since im sure u will mostly be getting raided by barch, giants and what not...
however i think the reason to keep them up is because of revenge, and wars... anything where ur opponent can see ur base, then make a specific army to 100% your base, needs them to be up, because if they are down, they WILL loonian or dragon army you. and with them both up while u lose range, u dont rly lose as much to ground as u lose to air when they arent up.

i keep 1 up and 1 down. it all depends on what kind of attacks you face normally. i dont really face alot of air attacks. my air defenses are all lvl 6

Personally I keep both up because in my opinion the added range doesn't help that much. My ground defenses can take out most attackers and if they can't then the xbow at level one isn't hitting hard enough to help much anyway. If you're farming and have your th outside it doesn't really matter as you will rarely get attacked other than a TH snipe. For your warbase though I advise you to scout out the enemy camps before the prep day ends and see if they have a lot of air troops in their camps or primarily ground troops and adjust accordingly. In normal play, i rarely if ever get attacked by air in gold 1, so both down.
In clan wars however, i keep 1 up and 1 down.

I would keep both mine up if I was th9 cuz ballonion attacks come frequent in th9, but when I'm th10 I would put all 3 down cuz 99% of attacks r gowiwi,wipe

It really depends on where you have your air defense. If you don't have your air defenses in the core then they should be pointed up. If all 4 air defenses are in the core I feel it's best to keep them to ground only.

I think you need to keep them up; why risk taking out 3 defenses if your raided by air? And if your raided by ground troops they will still be useful.

It depends completely on your trophy range IMO.

If your trophies are low, keep them down for ground troops.

If your trophies are high, keep them up for baloonians.

Mine are down and have always been down. My air defenses are near perfectly placed and seeking air mines are also well placed. I just don't see the need to have them up.

Both up otherwise air attacks will destroy you almost all the time.
