In-clan trophy weeks - how to make it work?

We are no in our 5th or 6th trophy week...so I'm speaking about something I know about.

Firstly it cannot work with your current group.. Harsh but true. This is a lesson we learnt the hard way.

Our first push was exactly as you described. This caused a huge amount of disruption in the clan.

however we did nothing much about it..

The next month we did another push and pretty much the same players failed to improve.. This caused a massive amount of drama and some of the players who did push left.

This lead to a massive clear out. At one point we were down to 30 players ( removing some who we had played with for months)....

The result was impressive.... With 30 players pushing we worked as a clan.. As we climbed the ranks we got some new players.. Some left after the week as we returned to farming... However some stayed and are still with us

By the 4th push we had every single clan member on board...

basically if you want to continue you need to clear out the players who refuse to push for trophies... It is your only option that or give up trying

One thing to add... We kept our minimum trophy requirement high (1800) I think.. This meant that anyone joining was capable of achieving this goal.. Even during our farming periods it was at that number.. And we did not invite.

Any new member was explained how the clan worked.. However I also created a recruitment thread here that allowed me to explain things better than clan chat. We got a significant number of players from these forums as opposed to global

I've found that incentives work better as opposed to advertising consequences for not participating. Get your elders on board too. Your collaborative effort will encourage the rest to follow suit. Best of luck on your trophy week!

This is what were contemplating as elders. Some of the ppl who are decent donators but arent on the same page in trophy hunting with the rest of the clan may have to go.

im in exactly the same position. weve just finished our 3rd cup week with only 1/3 of players contributing.

If you're making this a monthly push, then i don't recommend giving out the itunes cards like what I did unless of course you have deep pockets of course. For us, it was just a morale booster/team building type of competition. We are a farming clan and the trophy run was just to gauge where we stand in the game. However, my previous statements about getting everyone excited and pumped up still applies to you and your clan.

Trophy pushes can be real fun and also get the clan excited every once in awhile. But we try to keep in mind that this is only a game and as much as we like to go for a run sometimes we keep things in perspective and realize that not everyone has the same time and commitment.

Through trial and error we try to make it a 3-4 days games so we can have weekend players as well as weekday players contribute. Also for a serious run 4 days will run most players dry of elixir. We also use a TH based system. Everyone has a minimum starting point such as TH7 1050, TH8 1250 and TH9 1550. We reward the two most IMPROVED players with itune cards. This gets everyone excited and is a marginal donation. With the TH based system everyone can make a push. Without it the lower TH players don't compete cause they can't. Also rewarding the top 2 and not just one really helps cause when it was just the top player everyone sort of gave up when it got out of reach. We also have a separate prize for top donator during the games. So for those that are in the middle of too many defensive upgrades and can't compete or want to continue to farm for resources they can also contribute. During our current 3 day games we had one of our guys hit 10,097 donates before sundays reset. This was a pretty amazing achievement but it also helped the competitors out a lot as we always had level 6 ginats archers and maxxed dragon/pekkas at each request. A clan member generosuly donated $20 to him. Now he put up an offer of $25 to the next competitor that can beat his record.

We also have an ongoing raid record. Anyone that can beat one of our members best raids of 417/420 gets $25. With these little incentives and tweaks to our games we always have interest during our games.

We have a very good balance of a fun and pretty decent clan and have all continued to grow together. Our clan used to hover around 1200 and now we hover around 1500-1600. Growing together is key in our clan and also everyone gets a chance. We can easily kick all low level donators and low trohpy counts to improve our trophies but whats the point? Theres no real reward and not much fun by doing that. It's a game folks.
