Some TH7 Questions

So I have a few questions about my progression as a TH7. I've been trying to catch up to my friends because I joined late and I was wondering if I could save time by skipping upgrades for Dark Elixir troops?

It seems as though I will need dark elixir for a long time to come and the smartest way to spend it is to upgrade your heroes. Is spending Dark Elixir on other things just a waste of time that defeats the purpose of trying to reach end game as quickly as possible? Should I really just focus on upgrading highly used elixir troops like Barbarians and Archers and raid with them?

Also, I have not been in ANY clan wars yet and was wondering how big of an income they provide and if they are worth committing to?

I am currently a TH7 and clan wars are really helpful in upgrades if you commit yourself fully. I suggest you maxing elixir troops and spells for more efficient farming.

As for dark elixir it's up to you, I am currently saving up for a Minion Level 3 upgrade (10k) and with several wars I think you should be garnering around 500-1k dark elixir if you win the wars.

I don't know if this would help but yeah, that's what I'm currently doing.

Just upgraded to th8 myself. Honestly, dark elixir wasn't the biggest need. I'm the opposite of you in the fact that I'm ahead and trying to stay that way so I'm trying to hurry. To me, de is not as important if you're rushing. I highly recommend upgrading elixir troops first. As for upgrading minions. Basically useless. I've seen videos of minions maxed out failing horribly. Not worth spending all that time on de for it. Clan wars are a major help. I average over 300k every 2 days (assuming we win) and also about 200 de. It's worth the 120k or so I spend in troops. Dont worry to much about de at th 7. Its so much easier farming de with lvl 5 troops at th 8. My king was lvl 1 at th 7. Now hes maxxed at ten since i got to th 8

Your main priority for de should be to max ur king to lv5 for th7.
Followed by hogs.
Dark elixir is the most important resource in the later stages of the game.
You should leave minions for th8.
Please do not use cheap strategies like barch in cw. Its a one star strategy which is frowned upon by many clans.

yes DE farming is lot easier with L5 troops and in most cases the difference between making and taking the DE.

But remember the fact that TH7 is undoubtedly the best place to farm.

And coming to think of it, not much of DE to get

I respectfully disagree. TH8 is where farming really gets done. Just my opinion. The level 5 troops makes a HUGE difference.

I respectfully disagree. TH9 is where farming really gets done. OT: dont focus on dark at 7, but more so: dont try to catch up with other players. Take your own tour.

I wouldn't use something like BARCH in clan wars, I would use something heavier like dragons that doesn't drain DE I suppose. :P

Correction, level 2 minions is 10k DE. Not sure how much lv 3 cost

I woulds probably use BARCH to gain trophies and mainly attck TH lvl 6 and below. But dragons are matchmakers. If u train around 8 dragons and rest all barbs and archers and also 3 lightning spell, its a good strategy in war. And dragons consume elixir. So u dont have to worry about training them.
