The gem shop should offer more gems for the amount of money you pay, maybe like 20-30% more gems. This could result in more people buying gems, thus increasing super cell's income. Its a win-win situation.

No it's not a win win. Supercell would get less money per gem.
its not like adding a few more gems for a purchase is going to affect SC in any way at all.
What do you think they are spending their profit on? ideas from the forums?
You may see some ideas from the forums implemented into the game, but unless its making them money, they aren't adding it! So stop arguing with people from the forums and making them think their ideas are bad, because this isn't that bad of an idea and it's not like its costing them money.
Actually this would cost them money and a lot of it. Right now it costs "x" amount of gems to boost or cut down on time for an upgrade. You are requesting that SC give you MORE gems for the same dollar amount and NOT change "x". So that means the average person doesn't have to purchase gems nearly as much to accomplish the same thing.
For the constant gemmer or the occasional gemmer this is great, he/she doesn't have to spend as much money to get the same result. Reduced revenue for SC.
You may attract some new gemmers with the increased gems, I think that is what you are banking on. But I am sorry, I just think the math on this will never fly with SC.
I love to see how you get the math that more people would buy more gems.
Let's do an example, let's say... YOU for instance.
Today, you need to spend $19.99 to get 2500 gems. Under your new proposal, you would get 3,250 gems.
Now, if you actually needed those extra 750 gems, Today, you would have to either go one full level and spend $49.99 on 6500 gems, or you settle and spend $4.99 on 500 gems.
In either case, you had to spend $4.99 -$29.99 more to have the extra gems.
So in your scenario, it removed the necessity to either supplement your purchase with the lower gem pack or didn't feel the need to upgrade to the next bigger package.
This means you are buying less.
So how exactly did you come up with the notion that discounting gems would make more people buy gems?
Everyone has an ulterior motive, especially when it comes to saving money. Do you really think Supercell would fall for your biased logic that by lowering the price, you would actually be more inclined to buy MORE gems?
If they start discounting gems, that'll be Supercell's "Jumping The Shark" indicator. At that point, most of us would have already quit playing as the company grasps for as much revenue as possible in a last ditch effort to monetize before collapse.
He's not actually BUYING more, he's receiving more. And if that is what he meant, how does Supercell benefit n this win-win scenario?
Look, they could do it, they may increase it gradually. It's up to them.
Don't break what isn't broken. I'd rather they keep what they've got and allow us to enjoy this free game for as long as possible.
I've seen far too many Free To Play games collapse. I don't want to see that happen any time soon with COC.
Clash of clans is the top grossing app in the App Store in lots of locations. I'm pretty sure SC knows what they are doing when it comes to gem pricing.
If they thought they would make more money with a different pricing scheme, they'd do it.
Guys they make less money because right now there going good. If you bump up the gems people would be paying less for the same amount they pay now. say 1000 gems is $10 and 1500 gems is $15, if you make it 1500 gems for $10 supercell would lose money because everyone would be paying less.
I don't think Supercell has to worry about money, but I think a one day (or weekend) gem sale would entice a lot of non-gemmers to pull the trigger and make a purchase.
Something in the 10-20% extra gem range. Let's just say they do 10% bonus on the smaller "Pile" purchase, and work up to 20% for the "Chest."
Instead of $4.99 for 500 gems (which basically gets you an extra builder), you get 550. That gets you a builder and some gems for boosting loot or troop training, or speeding up a build.
Keep it at 10% for the "Pile," "Bag," and "Sack."
$9.99 gets you 1320 gems.
$19.99 gets you 2750 gems.
Purchasing a "Box" would get you 15% more gems - 7475.
Dropping $99.99 would get you the 20% bonus for 16800.
Again, I don't think they need to do this. They already have bonuses built-in to the different price points, so maybe on do a 10% bonus on the lowest level. I bet they'd get more people willing to spend $5.
Wow man I never knew giving a few extra gems would make them go bankrupt. Thanks for telling me this. Ill have to tell my boss at Target to stop doing sales otherwise we could go out of business! Man if super cell gives away too much we could have a repeat of the stock market back in 2008! Good thinking!
He's right we should get more gems from what we pay
