Institute a PURPOSE for Leagues

Problem: Right now your rank in your league (Silver II, Gold III, Crystal I, etc.) is pointless.
Everyone in the league gets a loot bonus and that's all (ranking does not matter).
You may be proud and get bragging rights that you finished #1 in your league after 2 weeks, but there's no reward for this.

Proposition: At the beginning of the 2 weeks, everyone is placed in a league with people around the same number of trophies (same as now, so Silver I is still 1200-1399).

You cannot be promoted out of the league, even if you have enough trophies to move up. You can only move up after the 2 weeks is over.

At the end of the two weeks, there is a coin/elixir/gem reward for the top 3, top 5 (whatever) players with the highest trophy count. Because you cannot be promoted out of the league, some people may start at 1250 trophies or so in Silver I and then end up with 1500 or so trophies at the end of the 2 weeks.

To prevent any exploitation of this (i.e., powerful people with high-leveled town halls moving down leagues just to farm gems/coins/elixir), you will only be put in a league with people of the same town hall level.

But Supercell doesn't want to give out gems, they want you to buy them. Anything they add will never give out gems, ever. Whenever they come up with an idea the first question they look at is hmmm now how can we make people spend more money than they already are? Also loot bonuses, the more loot they give out means less incentive to buy gems. Supercell couldn't possibly add a feature that could potentially lower their revenue, its not in their programming.

i agree that leagues are pointless atm. i like the idea, but how many people would be competing to get to the top within the 2 weeks and how would ties be settled?

Another thing, what if you are trophy pushing, but since you cannot promote in leagues, you are stuck with going through 1 league every 2 weeks... maybe an option to promote in leagues for those people, something like "Are you sure you want to promote in leagues? Promoting will disqualify you from competing in leagues until the season is over.

What supercell can do is give very low loot to high th ppl who drop down for farming so that ppl will eventually find a league where they fit

Thats a good idea so if a th7 is in champions they will only get the the loot from the league with the most th7 are

I like this idea! the higher TH level you are, the lower loot bonus is, so TH 10s could keep the loot bonus as it is right now and lower THs would get a higher loot bonus than high THs.

I agree the current league is not bringing any thing more than just something to bragg about.
So, I like the idea.

I don't agree wit some coments that SC is not willing to give out free gems, in fact, they do tis all te time in the objects you can remove, in the diamant boxes and in te iger leagues there are already free gems for winners, plus there are the contests where you can win free gems, so stating SC doesn't want to give free gems is just faulty.

That said, if it would be a system where it depends on te level of league how many gems you could win as a winer, I tink te whole idea makes perfect sense. Example, the gems to win in lowest league can be as low as 1-3 gems, and silver can be like 5-10 gems. Since SC controls the logarithm behind the amount of gems we can find in objects I don't tink tis needs to cost them more gems.

It would certainly bring a new entertainment and purpose o the game.

Hm... to kill a couple birds in one stone, why not have the loot bonus be based off of the league you start in? So for instance, winning the silver II league would give you say 300,000 gold and elixer, which is a lot for a th6 player, but winning the crystal I league would give you more along the lines of 1,500,000 of each, which is a lot more for like a th10 player. If that same th10 player was farming in gold, they would likely be getting plenty of loot from farming anyway.

Also, what happens if you drop a league? If you drop too far, do you get booted for the rest of the season or something?

I agree with some of the ideas to vary the loot bonus based on league level, helps to prevent abuse.

Also, with the whole gem argument, it was just an example and SC doesn't have to do it that way if they don't want to, but a minimal gem bonus (same that you could get in a Gem box or something like that) would still be something people would go after, with an added gold/elixir bonus.

I like it except I don't want to be forced to be with other th10 when Im farming.

Yeah, I think it's better just to change the loot bonus so people are discouraged from being in lower leagues, but not forced
