Archers overrated?

Good luck getting into even the most pathetic of clans with level 1 archers.

Love my lvl 6 archers

The thing is for archers, they usually have to be shielded with giants and are more of a damage dealer than a tank. Also, how are you using them? Do you put them right next to a wizard or mortar tower, just to see them obliterated by splash damage? Spread them out. Archers are used highly because of their range, how they can snipe buildings with out some defenses shooting at them, and shoot over walls.

I always use tem they are just so nice

Mass Archers are powerful. And they are lost cost.

Every type of troop in this game can do wonders if used correctly and in the appropriate situation. Archers are (in most clans) commonly accepted as a donation, that's why you usually see a lot of descriptions stating a specific required level of Archers to join. As for attacking, if you are doing an all Archer raid, it's important to look at the splash damage defense levels. Whether or not the WT or Mortar will kill them off after a single hit plays a huge role in the outcome of the attack. For example, level 4 Archers can survive a hit from a level 3 Mortar before being killed off by a second hit. Knowing this information and learning how to use them properly is the key to having more successful raids. I farmed my base with just Archers well into mid-TH9. Good luck and hope this helps :)

What do archers do for you guys that always finds room in your attack composition?

This is either a troll post or you have no idea what you are doing.

I absolutely loved raiding with almost all goblins and a few wall breakers when I was at TH7, so much so that goblins were the first troop I upgraded when I hit TH8. Goblins are great, but archers are clearly not overrated, for all of the reasons others have stated above. I rarely use goblins at this point, though they're vicious little creatures at L5. Pure archers and barch have kept my storages overflowing.
