TH8 to masters
If like to push to masters for the gems. I'm getting close to maxing TH8, I have some dark troops, archer towers, tesla and walls left. I know it's not easy, but I was just wondering if you guys have any tips. I barched my way up to 2350 or so and it's TH8s are becoming increasingly rare. A few guides I've seen suggest to switch to hogs around this trophy range, but it being able to lure the heroes anymore makes this a bit of a crapshoot. I've won some, but lost a lot more with hogs. Mass dragon I can get 2 stars usually, but it's very slow to train. What strategies/army comp have you used or do you recommend against premie th9/10 which are my main target. Thx

I barched / sniped my way up to Masters as a town hall 8 and it took me just over a day. It's a lot easier than you think; only attack a base if you're 100% certain that you'll get 50%. I tended to attack town hall 8's & premmie town hall 9's.
Good luck!

You must have had better luck than me. I just spent 250k gold at 2361 trophies and didn't find a single exposed th or th8. How could you find enough snipes/th8 in a day to get 200 trophies?
-
I started my push from 2000 trophies.
Just keep clicking the next button, those town hall's are out there.

What he means is that you can barch all the way to masters by simply targeting bases that have more buildings outside than inside.
Here's a tip...
Train up 3 lightning bolts (minimum level 4). Go with 100 barbs, 100 archers, or 80 barbs, 120 archers...you'll get a feel for how many you need depending on your comfort level. Make sure you have a full cc and at least your barbarian king available.
Target support buildings, army camps, collectors, labs etc...and look for bases where these structures are on the outside well out of reach of the defending clan castle and heroes. For TH9 bases you need to destroy about 36 structures to get 50% (depends on how many builder huts they have), for th10 bases, you need to destroy about 40.
Keep the lightning bolts handy to do one of two things.
1) take out a mortar that's defending a lot of percentage points
2) use a single lightning bolt to take out either a barbarian, aq altar, or one of the builder huts tucked away inside. One bolt is enough to take out those buildings.
3) use your cc and / or your barb king as a last resort to get you to 50%.
A derivative of this strategy uses 3 or 4 hog riders late into the raid and specifically to tank splash defenses for archers.
Don't spam troops...deploy with a purpose because every troop will count. Of course always look for the snipe but never ever take on a base without a full army (a lot of people like to trap their bases for easy trophies, (4 level 8 teslas, = 400dps at an extremely high rate of fire).
I did my run to Masters as a town hall 8 but with hogs before the giant bomb buff. It was a little silly dumping 1k's worth of dark elixir troops to take down one damn building, but at the time, desperate times called for desperate measures.
At th9 - going to masters is a walk in the park...you can barch, balloon, hog, whatever you want, it's just a question of how much time you want to put it into.
Best of luck with your push.

What I did was barch until 2300, then mass drag until 2600.

Thx guys! That's pretty much what I did so far. Barch and aim for 50%. But it just started to take hours to find a few bases to attack and I figured I need to change it up. But maybe I'll keep doing that then. Barch and snipe away.
-
Barch worked really well for me. Make sure you can get 50% though because losing is devastating. It really demotivated me whenever I lose. Keep nexting and looking for snipes/easy 50%s and you'll get there in no time.

Yeah, the losses are really aggravating. It's so easy to just go for an attack when you've hit next 100x. I've made it up to 2450. It's a slog though, there are very few bases I can actually take on and stand a chance. I train a dragon army every time I log off but even mass dragon isn't a guaranteed 2 or 3 star. We'll see if I can make it. I have this week off and I'm going to try my best. Now crossing my fingers for a snipe attack on me and not a revenge.

I'm in a similar situation, going to start pushing in a week or two. What I plan to do is:
1. Put th and elixir storages outside as I have maxed all elixir buildings and lab upgrades. Spend all excess gold on walls. That way I hope not to get 3-starred all the time, since there's only dark elixir left to steal.
2. I'm not fond of barching/sniping as I find it incredibly boring and playing is supposed to be fun. Of course I'm going to snipe every th I see, but that's not my main goal. So, balloonion till 2200 and then GiWiPe as high as I can get comfortably. GoWiPe after that. Plan is to 1-2 star th9 bases and th10 without infernos.
3. With GiWiPe/GoWiPe I'm looking for bases that I can easily reach the core(for th and de storage). Bases with big compartments are optimal.
4. I have 1,3k+ gems, so during the push I can spend 300 gems on boosts and still get that 5th builder after reaching masters. I plan to have a lot of fun beating those th9/th10s and stealing their precious dark elixir, goal is to get at least 60k for golem upgrade.
5. Ohh and I just got this idea. Before the actual push I might go just to hang in crystal 3 with th outside and with all resources spent. There's a lot of pushers who are going to snipe my th as soon as I log out. So I log out, let them snipe, log back in, break the shield, log out and repeat that cycle.. then I can supercharge my push with a loooot of revenges, especially those low ths who are on their way to masters!
We shall see how that goes.. maybe I am a bit too arrogant for my own good ;)
