Th8 - Trophy level for farming gold?

Hi Guys,

I am at 1550 trophy points with town hall 8 and I am trying to raid gold/elixir. I've boosted all my barracks for a few hours of raiding and once again im getting absolutely TERRIBLE bases come up for raiding. Getting any close to 100k of each is rare and the vast majority are around 50k of each. Why is this so ♥♥♥♥? I mean its really not fun continuously pressing scroll time and time again. I must have done it 20 times in a row earlier before I eventually gave up.

Are my trophys too high, I don't get this!

Im farming at 1900-2000 trophys with th8. Just spend 2 min searching and got 350000 gold and 425000 elixer

So maybe im not high enough then? Might as well push for trophy points now

Gold II (1600-1800).

I personally like it around 1200-1500 range. Using BAM works great in this range

I farm in the 1400-1500 range using barch and make about 1.2m gold/hour with nothing boosted. I always see people saying that Gold 2 is the sweet spot for TH8 but whenever I go up there the loot sucks for me. I like Gold 3 and even Silver 1 sometimes.

I find plenty of good loot for gold and elixir at just over 1400 trophies, quite a few collector raids to be done there while also a large amount of poorly defended storages :)

For farming in TH 8, I like to stick around 1200-1300 trophies as you get pretty good loot, especially when you use barch because you are not spending that much elixir on training them.

I've tried farming up to Gold 2, and I honestly don't find it as good as Silver 1 because most of the bases up their with a lot of loot, but some are just bad with not much loot. If you are a good attacker, then go up to around gold 2, Goodluck! :)

Wait, 1.2 million gold per hour? Lets say you are BARCHing, so your army takes around 20 minutes to train. So you would be attacking 3 times in this hour. So you are telling us that you get 400k gold every single raid? And since the army takes 20 minutes to train you are finding these bases almost instantly?

That's actually possible I guess - if you cue up your barracks just before you start an attack, they'll already be half trained when you return from your first raid. With that a full barch-army doesn't take full 20 minutes so he may be able to attack up to six times per hour.

Not every raid requires the use of 200 troop capacity.

Personally, i like 1400-1550 using either bam or barch with a few wall breakers just in case. Netting 1-1.5m gold/hour without boosting or spells.

Some days and times are better than others. I even had a stretch of over 2m gold/hour yesterday but this morning was very slow. Loot definitely varies and can be unpredictable, just experiment with trophy ranges and try finding a sweet spot each day.

If you BARCH and attack the right bases and you are only going for gold then you do not need to deploy your entire army. You can preload and there are several other tactics that work as well - like BAM which utilizes all 6 rax. I recently learned how to farm over 1.75 mil in one hour without boosting -- thank you Centum Group!

I would agree with you, but the whole Barracks thing doesn't quite work with BARCH. When you que up an army for BARCH, you are training Barbarians and Archers witch take a max of 25 seconds to train. If you have a full army every time you raid, then no troops will be able to train while you search. Therefore, you would only save yourself 25 seconds in between every attack. But if he truly does get 1.2 Million gold every hour I would love to find out what trophy range he is at!

1.2m gold/hour is if I get some good bases. That is also being active for the entire hour, not taking breaks or anything for a solid hour. Sometimes I will get like 800k which isn't as good. I don't always use all of my 200 troops most of the time either. Lots of times I will deploy like 80 troops to get 150k of each or so. Also I cue my army before I go to battle. Lastly, I think that even if I do use all 200 troops and I didn't cue my troops in advance I do not think that barch would take 20 minutes.
