I wish to share what skills and strategies I developed over time and what I use to get so many gold. Some of this stuff may not be new, but I hope it does help someone out there.
Getting Started
Before I begin, I want to overview some key rules ALL farmers should follow. I know it seems silly, but please, bear with me! First of all, your main priority is to get as much loot from a raid as you possibly can. Duh, right? Well, I say this because some people, like myself stress over getting trophies as well. I have found that this can lower your chances of success when farming, and in the long-run decrease the amount of loot you gain. Never, and I mean never worry about winning the raid! As long as you gain all the available loot or most of it, who cares? The point of farming is to gain loot for upgrades, not to go up in trophies. Secondly, you got to start being more conservative with your troops and spells. What do I mean? Well, most farmers rely on various armies, such as BARCH and BAM. All tier 1 troops. One thing I found that makes me more successful is being more precise and cautious in my placement of troops. Not only does it lead to more efficient use of your troops but it also leads to wasting less and having more ready when you finish the raid!
Finding the right league for you
This guide is not aimed toward any TH specifically. When it comes to farming the league is key. Too high and you will find harder opponents and be less likely to keep your resources. Too low and you will not find any good bases to raid. Finding the right league can be a challenge, but is not impossible. First, you got to see where you stand. Are you near maxed for your TH? Or are you just starting off? If you are still new for your TH then your best bet is to just stay where you were for the previous TH and see where you stand. If the loot is not good, then go to the next league and repeat if necessary. I go more for consistency. For example, I stay within Gold 2 for farming if I find that I yield at least 180k gold each raid. If I lose that consistency I just go higher up in trophies.
Getting the most out of your troops
Whether you use BARCH, BAM, or even BAG, does not matter. All tier 1 troops are somewhat frail and have a lot of weaknesses. Unfortunately, if you want to get the most out of these troops you can't mindlessly place them all over some random guys base. You got to be more strategic! Yeah, I know right? More strategic in a strategy game? My first point, do not ever place many troops in the same area! By placing your troops more spread apart lowers the chances of mortars and wizard towers from ruining your attack. Second, you got to watch out for that clan castle. Always try to check to see if it has any troops in it. If some wizards or even a dragon pop out, do not panic. Just lure them out to a far corner, away from all the defenses and spam some of your troops. Also, you got to know how many troops would really be necessary in your attack. For example, if you notice that the collectors and mines are full to the top but are also spread away from the base you only need to send 1 troop to each mine and collector.
What is the best army composition for farming?
Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no "best" attack strategy for farming. It all comes down for preference, really. I personally favor BARCH, and have come to the point where I can do just as good with even all archers. If you don't have a favorite strategy just mess around with the different types and even make adjustments! Explore! I will give a brief description of all the types I know below:
BARCH: Usually half barbarians and archers; A line of barbarians placed to soak up the damage followed by a line of archers to help take out outer buildings and defenses.
BAM: Same concept as BARCH but with minions added to it; better suited for exposed storages
BAG: Again, similar to BARCH, but this time with goblins as well; usually 1/3 of each type of troop; more viable at rushing full collectors and sometimes exposed storages
Getting your army ready quicker!
You are probably just thinking by just using gems, but I have found a way to speed up the training time without any gems. Go back to what I said before with using only what you need. If you train troops as you raid, around 20-30 barbarians or archers would be ready once you got back. Lets say you find a base with exposed collectors that are full. You know you can get most of the loot with just 20-30 troops. Should you do it? YES! Even if you lose trophies, that does not matter, because once you get back to your base you would gain at least 100k gold and would be ready to raid again! So if you see freebies that you can get at the cost of trophies do not be afraid to go for it because it saves time!
Conclusion
This guide is coming to a close, but I really hope I helped make farming easier for you guys. I hope to add more to this guide over time. I would appreciate it if you shared if it helped at all or what I could of done better. Thanks for taking the time to read this guys!
