Age Restriction! (Yes, I'm Serious)
So, I have been thinking of a little bit of an age restriction to this game. Here's how it would work: In the next major update, everyone will be required to giving their birth date before getting back to their base. MM/DD/YYYY type of selection, very simple.
After a player has given their exact age, the game will be a little different. I have a couple different options for this next part.
1) After just checking the App Store, I confirmed this app is listed as "ages 9 and up." We all know kids younger than this play the game. So if a child puts in his age as under 9 years old, they are either:
a) unable to open the game on that Google+ orGame Center account (yes, it is a little harsh, but that is why I give options so read on)
b) put in a completely separate global, full censorship, complete or maybe extra (or less) use of the "report" button.
2) If entering age as in between 9 to 13-16 (up for debate on that age), then:
a) put into the under 9 global, full censorship, use of "report" button would be opposite of the kids under 9 (if they are given more use, ages 9 to 13-16 would be given less. Same for the opposite.) with an extra feature of "block" that would go along with either the "report" or "mute" button. I got the "block" idea from another post, so that is a whole other story but could be useful for my idea.
b) another separate global (may be a stretch, but it is just an idea) where censorship is not (or is) quite as heavy as the under 9 global. Same use of "block" and "report" as listed in part "a" of idea #2.
3) If idea #2 is set at ages 9 to 13, then this idea would be set at ages 13 to 16-21. If a player gives their age in this range:
a) New and last global. Censorship is limited but still present, same use of "report" button as there is now, plus the added "block" feature.
4) This is for ages 18 (or 21, depending on idea #3) and up:
a) In same global as idea #3 except no censorship at all (or maybe a toggle for it, just in case), more use of "report" button and new "block" button.
5) More of a positive idea. On the day of a player's birthday, a small birthday hat or cake icon will show up in each global and clan message sent by that player. Something small, but I think a lot of people would like the little bit of recognition on their birthday.
Now I know these ideas are a lot to ask for, but I thought I would just express my distaste in global by giving my own ideas on how to make it better for everyone. Feel free to comment your ideas or spit firey hate, whichever you prefer.
