USE the HEALER for DEFENSE

All this time I thought the Healer totally sucked.

All this time I was thinking of the Healer as an offensive troop. When they made the Heal Spell I thought, well damn, why need a healer?

The answer is...DEFENSE.

If you don't know already the Healer HEALS MOTHER TRUCKING BUILDINGS (wizard towers, camps, everything).

The healer also doesn't run out and engage the attackers. She just hangs back and heals the current building being attacked. She is 20 slots and I've used her successfully for a few attacks.

If she took up 10 slots, that would be pretty OP for a TH9 with two healers healing the x-bow.

it used to be good vs the balloon and archer attacks but it hard to heal against pekkas when they 1 hit everything

might be better with lvl 2 and up but i tried this last night with a lvl 1 healer and it wasnt healing the buildings fast enough to be worth it. It slowed down the building maybe a second or 2 but thats it. Then it got shot down by archers. Not worth it for 20 slots, IMHO.

Against pekkas with rage spells she'll fly right back in the cc and hide. Lol

Makes me think of an idea ....

The common census is the Healer is mostly useless,and we don't have a unit used strictly for defense( unless you never use archers on offense because you gem Dragons and Pekkas as a Top 50 Player)

So how about replacing the Healer with a defensive unit ?

It would have either 0 attacking power or that of a Level 1 barbarian ( or equivalent )

Its best use would be to delay Pekkas and Dragons .

To make up for its lack of attacking power , it would have a massive amount of HP

It would basically be a Tank unit clad in heavy armor ( like a defensive Pekka) . Unlike Pekkas though ,they would be very slow,half the speed of a Giant .

What do you guys and gals think of having a defensive -only unit that has the HP of a Pekka , half the speed of a Giant , and zero or minimal attacking power ?

For those with high trophies, I believe it would make the game much more dynamic than simply adding another defensive building ... We have plenty of those,and coming up with more doesn't serve much of a useful purpose against Pekkas ... We should either have a defensive unit designed to delay high HP/attack units or have a defensive building with a delay feature

The cost and time to train ,and Housing Space could be the same as a Healer

Agree/Disagree this would be a worthwhile change?

Like Sneaky said, they don't help much vs PEKKAs - they don't heal the building quick enough to slow the PEKKA down.

I would think the goal of the healer on defense is slow down the enemy by causing them to make more attacks to destroy the building, resulting in your defenses having more time to hit the enemy. Versus giants, it seemed to do very well.

If the healer heals what's under attack, she has benefits (except maybe PEKKAS) but now and then if the attacker casts lightning in one part of the city, but attacks the other, and the healer just spends the whole battle healing the lightning damage, that part stinks.

I think the developers for the game should allow us to reserve a small amount of units for "guard duty" maybe ten or twenty units that would be stationed maybe in the townhall or a new type of building to accommodate these but I like how using healers helps but to get them from clan mates is very hard so using one as a designated defense troop I think would help

The pekkas with 4 spells are too strong and fast for the healer to do anything worthwhile, maybe if Supercell tweaked their hit points and raised the cc troop capacity we could see some benefit otherwise continue using the archers.

Why you ask?

Because Supercell is in the business of making money. Money = gems. To get maxed PEKKA, max spells, etc...most people, you got it, bought gems. Gemmers should always, always, always, always, always have a tactical advantage.

I didn't gem up to TH9 or get the x-bow.

So, WHY should I have a defense against somebody who gemmed up their offense?

As hard as this is for you to swallow-I shouldn't. Nor should anybody else. Not if Supercell is going to continue to convince people to buy gems to have an advantage. If you gemmed up your PEKKAs and have the four spells guess what you need to do Honey? You need to do the same thing when you attack somebody.

I really don't understand your hostility towards me, yes I get attacked by pekkas and yes I do attack with pekkas (I'm in the high end part of the players) nonetheless its seems that I'm complaining about it as you can see as I always complained about the other things that I didn't like.

I prefer to play the game using FairPlay and strategy and not mass gem purchasing.

I want to tell you another thing, if your really not going to ever buy gems then you should stop playing now, I'm saying this with no offense intended towards you but when you cup up you'll have to buy gems or you wont last a second so save yourself the aggravation.

Yes, they should have an advantage .they should NOT have an easy victory that requires no strategy ,or that would make the game pointless

I gotta aggree with some posters here (even if most of the time i dont like the way theypost their rants) i think treshhold of not using gem is around upper 2400 pushing 2500 more than that its either very difficult or very impossible to maintain w/o gemming... Reached 2500 w/o using gems to insta train army ( i only use giants archers wall breakers and just few barbs) but i gotta admit that iam Online most of d time also to reach that cup level.. After that treshhold i doubt if you can comfortably reach higher than 2500 w/o gemming higher lvl troops and spells. With a semi max base and good design u'll sit comfortably at around 2100-2200 cups.

But atleast theres one good thing that happened that is troops dont die even if army camp had been trashed. Since you can always win more cups via def only returning to the same problem that Pekka (+spells) almost always just walk trough ur base like a hot knife trough a butter..

Love the artwork but the revenge list only holds the last 40 defences, after that they start getting knocked off. So actually they always go away eventually.

When you are too busy logging in, leaving your clan and rejoining it becomes hard to count that high.

My healer died when she rushed to save a camp being overrun by farmers.

I have TH7. Is it effective against a hoard of lv5 archers?

That would be awesome and maybe you can train a troop in your barracks and when it's finished you could send it to your clan castle making it easier because people wouldn't donate it very often becuase it's not a troop for attacking unless they are on a shield and are training them for their clan

This is a GREAT HELP! Im grounded as of now because of my grades (heheh) and i put her in the cc and my cousin( also plays) Told me i have gained 50 trophies and counting. When i get my ipod back ill make a thread on tips for my yard also. :)

Yes, as long as they are attacking the building she is healing and not her. So, while she is healing the building hopefully you have a cannon or something taking out the archers.
