I used to use 3 rage, but I just got a nice revenge 3 star with 3 lightnings (to take out an air defense) and to be honest I'm not the best with spell placement, so I'm wondering if I should just use 3 lightnings all the time with Balloonion. I've seen people use both combos, and lightnings are cheaper and faster anyways. Thanks.
I don't think Balloonian cuts it (in Clan Wars that is). Its too difficult because of the lure, the queen and cause of the AD/Wizard Tower both being enemies. But on the right base it might be something. Lightning Spells sounds useless to me (sorry), cause of WT. If I'd use it I would use mostly Heals, I guess.
I would do 2 rage 1 lightning.
I use 3 rage spells for pushing and 2 lightning 1 rage for farming.
I use all rage. A rage is more useful then the minions I use on the clan troops.
I do drag and loon raids in clan wars and use 4 rage and 1 lightning, the lightning for cc troops. I found from doing so many raids like this that heal spell is useless with balloons
On smaller bases use heals. The only reason u use rages on loons is to make them move faster and take things out quickly. When the bases are smaller u don't need to rage. Place heals around AD and wiz tower.
If your loons arnt lvl 6 it's not worth using
Yeah, I kinda agree - level 3 dragons will get you much better results than level 5 balloons, against most bases anyway, as long as elixer cost isn't an issue. I've seen loads more 3-stars with mass dragons, than mass balloons; the only 3-star wins I've had with balloons (level 6 ones) are vs pretty weak bases e.g. severely prem TH10 with infernos but weak-as everything else, or weak TH9 with xbows down / weak TH8.Quote:

I tend to be farming, so on my TH9 I start with 1 heal, 2 rage, 1 lightning, as that's the most flexible, and see how I go from there. When farming with 'loons I try to keep it to an average of 1 spell per battle.
You need all jump spells for baloonian to work properly.
