Well they finally broke my modified base this war, but it ate up SEVEN attacks from their clan. Right now we have 30 minutes left in the war and we are tied, so this base definitely played a part in eating up their attacks and keeping their stars down.
Here's the final breaking of my base, guy had to use freeze spells on the core twice plus he came with lvl 20 heroes, so I was heavily outclassed since I'm still pretty new to TH9

In my opinion a very nice base. As i stated earlier; almost every SH9 is minimum 2 starable with a GoWi** army (even by sh9-attackers). I've created an AntiHog/Antidrag/Antibloonion-base but off course the GoWi**'s armys had a easy time 2 starring the base. My goal is to have a base when they have the most problems to 2/3 star. 1-starring a base is easy with any army.
This base intriges me and after seeing Karn's logs i've decided to test this base myself;

And i'm really in to protect the CC, the Original design u can send a hog or giant to lure the CC-troops. In this adjustment it's becoming even harder to lure.
We're in CW @ the moment but i think they'll skip the base, if i have some logs i will share them here.
@Strikk and Karn (and maybe someone else): great adjustments, I will be testing those out and will probably add different versions to the thread. Great job guys, interested to see how well these adjustments work!
Im an early TH9 and got 3 starred the past two wars. The first war was 12 lvl 3 dragons, should have been 2 star (possibly 1) because I had my xbows to the ground. Came from the top and then the CC troops lured them to the center.
Then I modified the base a little, pushed the defenses out a little to make it so the CC troops weren't triggered as easily.
Next war (9 drags (lvl 3), 14 hogs (lvl 4)) cleared the left side and then Archer queen pulled them in to trigger CC and lured the drags to the center. Then hogs were dropped and went to the center. :(
Good news though, I got hogged with a couple giants and loons the first attack and got 0 stars

I would like to announce that I will be leaving this thread inactive.
My reasons for this are:
1) I believe there aren't many things you can do to make it better now. It is becoming pretty common and used quite a bit now, so really there's not much to add.
2) My GCSEs are starting, so not a lot of time I have that could be used on this thread to update with war logs.
3) There are better bases out there, with newer, fresher concepts available.
4) When I made this base, HoLoWiWi was a very new concept. Now, it is a very popular strat which a lot of people use, meaning the base is less effective.
5) Hogs have been adapted a lot after the update, and other air armies have developed significantly. In addition, the lava hound could make it even easier to win.
There are a lot of factors that go into this. I have been thinking about this since the beginning of August, as I was seeing the base getting ripped apart more and more. It worked well for me at the start, and I enjoyed seeing countless armies fail against it. But that was when my clan was more TH9-based, and we were facing a lot of bad attackers. To my awe, the base did really well during those times, even up against max gowipe/mass drags/gowiwi.
But times are changing, no base design will remain useful forever. Maybe it was never good, maybe it was just useful for me and a few others, but what I know now is there are better options.
Feel free to continue using it or adjusting it if it works for you, but do consider a switch of base. You will probably one day find countless three stars on you using various strats. If you are in a lower level clan which faces unskilled clans, feel free to use it. But there is probably a better choice.

So what I'm saying is, feel free to use it or adjust it at your own risk. But I wouldn't really recommend it now, as it is not a great design when facing skilled clans. I won't be updating the thread or promoting this base anymore, as there are a lot of really good designs out there that you should use instead.
