Ha, I went to th9 early, very rarely will you see a th7 trying to farm you. I left with defenses a Lvl from maxed except my cannons. As long as he has lvl7 walls and decent defense lvls, he'll be fine. If you can max xbows early, it'll scare away most attackers lower Lvl than you.Quote:

You don't need to "max" TH8. In fact, you don't even need to have all max TH7 defenses before making the jump. Once I had my splash towers to lvl 6, walls to lvl 7, AD's to 5, and AT/Cannons to 7/8, I was fine. I would get manhandled from time to time, but you get that no matter how your defense is. Yea, TH10's can rock you and so can TH9's and even 8's, but your premmie defenses don't require much gold and you can keep little on hand to minimize your losses.
What I will say, is max all of your troop upgrades (camps included). If you are going into TH9 with junk troops, you're going to be in huge trouble. You have got to be able to make money off of other TH9's and TH10's, and you can't do that with an underpowered army.
Lastly, while you don't need to do anything else in my opinion, I will say that I wish I would have maxed TH8. It took me way too long to get to where I am today because I took the plunge early. This is a long-term game and you should have long-term goals. Take the route that will help you get there most efficiently, don't just upg TH for shiny new toys. Impatience is the worst reason to upgrade a TH!
If you have at least:
- level 6 wizard tower and mortar
- level 9 cannons and archer towers
- level 7 walls
- level 5 air defence
- maxed tier 1 and 2 troops
- level 5 king
...then you are good to go imo.
Going to th9 is a big step up. You get so much cool new stuff like witches, jump spell, level 6 troops, xbows and archer queen, and of course, level 30 heroes.
There is the downside of the higher next cost, and th10 will start to attack you, and you will no longer be able to farm th7's. However, if you have what's listed above, then I think the benefits of all the new stuff will outweigh the costs.
I'm getting pretty bored at th8, and I don't think I can stay there for much longer.
After reading into this, I'm convinced to move up a little early. My camps and troops are max and my defenses are upgraded close to max. So I think I'm going to move up. Thanks so much for your input!Quote:

I maxed my th8 and filled all of my storages before I got to th9 and still had a tough time in the beginning.
