I'm sure this has been brought up already, but does anyone know if the wallbreaker AI is going to get fixed anytime soon??
For those that haven't noticed(which seems impossible)...they no longer only go for sections with enclosed buildings, they are going for any and all sections!! Even single pieces that should not be factored into their AI whatsoever :(
They have gradually lost their brain on each update. There is no doubt that the Game AI is the biggest surprise that SC has brung to its audience since the latest update. I usually deploy 1-2 giants followed by some archers to take out the first line defense, which helps me save some WBs (they are really costly) for a chain of single defense sections. I have some replays uploaded to YouTube to prove that WB AI get downgraded. Unfortunately, The internet in Vietnam is tremendously impact due to the break of AAG cable so that I cannot access YouTube (10 minutes for partly loading YouTube.com) to upload more.Quote:

Didn't see much wrong in hoahnam's video - wb's went to closest building enclosed by a wall.
jellidonutz video was bad though. I saw something similar when somebody was attacking my base. The common theme was they sent in a bunch of wb's all together. After the first wall was blown the remaining ones ran back the way they'd come to blow up an already holed wall. Might be best to avoid spamming a bunch of wb's for now. (I've never done it, usually just drop 2 at a time if that's how many are needed for that level of wall.)
Maybe you should watch it again. Pay attention to the 2nd 2 WB. They are not supposed to break the empty section. By the description of WB, they should have moved a little bit around the empty section on the right to access the inner section. The idea is not strange to anyone.Quote:

Fix the damn wallbreakers for christ sakes. I used to be able to precision target poorly designed outward facing T intersections even inside the base. Now I often have a wallbreaker zoom off in the wrong direction towards an already opened compartment wall that was nicked a couple of times by a barb earlier in the attack. And yes, the there are no buildings anywhere near the damn wall. The wall is "enclosing" nothing.
This effects even outer walls. Since wallbreakers need cover, barbs or giants are required. As soon as a giant or barb touches a wall, all of a sudden the wallbreaker targets that spot instead of the desired T intersection. I end up having to use twice as many wbs to open two compartments one at a time instead of both at the same time.
Stop rewarding bad base designs. Put them back to the way they were. There's no reason for WBs to target "hurt" walls since smart attackers launch exactly the number of WBs needed to blow the wall.
I wanted to further clarify the problem with WB targeting when attempting to target poorly designed junctions. Cover troops like barbs and giants target buildings, so when they target a wall, it's pretty much never at the junction, but instead at a spot along the wall with the building on the other side. As I mentioned before, once they damage the wall, the user has no more control over where the WBs will go, they are going to target the damaged part of the wall and not the junction.This effectively makes WB splash damage almost useless. The only time splash damage now matters is when the user times the WB launch before a single troop engages a nearby wall, yet not too early so that the WB will still have cover. Of course, we are talking about a split second here, so either the user has the visual processing ability and reflexes of a supercomputer/robot, or it's dumb luck.
On top of that, since a proper attacker has cover troops spread out over an area covering multiple compartments, and troops will likely engage the wall at multiple points, the WB target becomes effectively random. Given all the troop movement, there's no way to observe where the wall has been damaged when launching WBs. The user is basically hoping the WBs target near where they want them to go.
So again, fix WBs ASAP. This isn't a "you need to relearn how to use them" problem. There's nothing to relearn when their behavior is effectively random. Don't tell us to wait for the next update, don't tell us that more data is needed to understand the impact. They are broken, we know exactly how and why they are broken. Straight up fix them so they do what a user expects them to.
Before I read this post, I just saw this on YouTube!!! Wallbreaker AI MEGA-FAIL! Please fast forward to 1:10 min to see the epic fail, which was specifically highlighted in the video. Hopefully this becomes the #1 priority for the next maintenance update. Just wow!
