Reaper's Nest (TH9 Farming)

Base: Reaper's Nest

Edit: Includes extra mortar.

A very fresh TH9. Created this base; it has been working extremely well despite the fact that my TH8 buildings weren't maxed(just walls) and that my Xbows haven't finished.

Sidenote: The very first defensive logs in the OP were when I first became a TH9 with TH8 defenses and TH9 defenses building. Still, the defensive logs speak for itself.

*Wizard towers are on the outside layer. Generally I would rather my wizard towers behind at least one layer of walls. I value elixir as a new TH9. But if you don't care too much about elixir, you can replace the elixir storages with wizard towers and the wizard towers will be in a much better position.

Base features:
*Symmetry (Adds to intimidation) Mortars, Wizard towers, and air defenses are in a perfect square.
*Centralized Clan Castle
*Gold/Elixir separated, in four different compartments
*Segmented, many different compartments.
*X-bows in core, entire base in range

I will continue to tweak around the buildings, traps, and possibly walls, depending on my replays. As of now, this is how my base looks.

What is hte point of having upgrading defenses inside your walls? They don't do anything.

Tehnically, they do, they provide hit points.. Especially the x-bow

First off, nice work with the walls :) Took some grinding i'd imagine.

Your base looks nice, but i think atm its quite easy to get 2 elixer and 2 gold storages with a cheap army of giants barbs and archers, im not sure how u can resolve that...

Furthermore, i think u should opt for 2x double giants bombs, they help a lot vs giants and hogs, u will have to change the outer layer a bit for that.

The base does look nice though :)

Defensive logs updated: I went up to Crystal to finally get a challenge.. Unfortunately I have been town hall sniped every single time. I'm guessing the symmetry of my base is really intimidating. I've kept moderate amounts of resources.

Get your gold storage and de storage filled up to test out your base. Normally nobody will crack in your base if there is 100k-150k gold loot available. Just a little tips for you :)

I've been keeping more loot than that... Been keeping 500,000 to 2.5 million gold the past week. And usually a whole lot more elixir.

500000 gold is only 70000 loot - nobody will bother for that. How much dark have you had? I only get snipes until I have well over a million gold and at least 25000 dark elixir.

you should alternate your gold and elix stg as you go around the base. The way you have it you have two golds or two elixir together.

Giant bombs should be paired so they trigger together to kill hogs or badly damage giants.

You're right though, it's better to stagger it.
500,000 was the min, usually kept more. Had well over that before I spent it on two level nine walls.

I had over 20,000 dark elixir before I spent it on my Archer Queen.

edit: Even though I'm OCD for symmetry, I alternated just for you :)

But question, it's not wiser to separate them so that they cover the entire base?
I was thinking, two giant bombs together can do serious harm to giants or hogs, but they might wreck half the base before double giant bombs trigger. With them separated, they can only destroy 25% before one goes off.

with them separated they will kill no hogs or giants, and the attacker will heal them with a spell... What's better a 100% chance of killing nothing or a 50% chance of killing a lot.

re alternating the storage doing it your way if your attacker is after gold, say, he only has to barch two sides. Alternating them means he has to hit four sides so he will hit next instead.

Im aware of the benefits of alternating storages.. But sometimes I dont alternate just for aesthetic purposes, nothing more

Update: Lately, I've been carrying large amounts of loot.

In three weeks since I have upgraded to TH9, the highest percentage against my base remains at 45%.
Ninety-five percent of the time, I get town hall sniped, but this is the latest attempt at an actual raid.
He picked off some outside buildings, and tried to send all his giants from the bottom and left side of the base.
He didn't even reach a storage. The results speak for itself.

Hog raid, Barbarian King was able to get to one elixir storage on the top right, but just that

Tried to get 50%, failed bad.

In 3 weeks since having this base, the base has failed to give up at least 50%. Most attacks are in the 20's or 30's with few in the 40's. Will keep updating.

My air defenses will be down for months as they're all less than level six but no one has attacked through the air yet. My X-bows are all pointed down since I receive no air attacks but my base should be vulnerable for a while. Still, I'll include all logs.

Finally, a full on attack. Got pretty far and to the core but the base still hasn't given up over 50% in a month of creating it.

Looks like a really solid base, the only trouble i see with it is that the wizard towers are infront of the storages and in a different wall compartment so once it is destroyed the storages are free for the taking by goblins because the motars red range wont target the gobs.

Good point. If you care less about elixir, then you could switch up the wizards towers and elixir storage placement. As a new th9 though, elixir is still important to me.
Btw, because all the mortars are in a perfect equilateral triangle and near the core, so even though one mortar will have a red range, another mortar will be there to back it up. If you check all the mortars' ranges, each mortar has both extra mortars covering for its red range.

First time someone got over 50%, hats off.
In my defense, one of my air defenses are currently upgrading(my air defenses will be down for weeks) and only one of my X-bows are pointing up.
In reality, I'll take a 63% balloonion raid against a TH10 with max troops with only 3 level five air defenses every time.
Regardless, solid raid and the best on this base so far.

Hi TS, may I know which league are you in when you are using this design?
I'm a beginner th9, had maxed out all my defences and walls when i was th8. Currently using ringus design, and am in gold 2.
Just want to know whether you have been raided by giants, wiz, healer n rage combination? And how does your base fare against this combination.
Ringus is weak to this combination. And in gold 2, there is hardly any hog raiders. Mostly giants, wb and wiz.

Fits perfectly. I've altered the walls a little to make it more symmetrical. It's now symmetrical both ways; looks more intimidating.
