A Friends List?

The idea seems easy enough, simply click on someones name and when the list comes up to visit, view profile, etc. there should be an add friend option. They would have to accept it and all and would go to your friends list. There you would have the option to have a conversation with them instead of just global and clan chat. Personally I would like this just because I have met other people from previous clans that I would to stay in touch with but obviously can't talk to them without being in a clan or trying to read all the rubbish in global. What do others think?
