x-bow opinion

Hi i just got my x-bow recently, and tbh it is not that good as least for the price and the hype. Like, it is similar to archer tower when put to air, and like cannon with bigger range when put to ground. First level is fine with 3 mil gold and 5 days, but level 2 is just ridiculous with 5 mil gold and 10 days upgrade. For me, it is just an overprice archer tower and not really worth it. Although i said that, i am sure i will still upgrade them for two reasons, first anymore defense is helped, second it really do intimidate lower players from attacking.

"Overpriced" just wait till you are upgrading your archer towers. Those are five mil each

i think this when im defending. it does seem pretty useless especially when they have a heal spell. but when you are attacking do you want to avoid them. i do! they are not over priced. what else would your builder do and what else would you spend your gold on. if everything was suited to the duration and cost then just imagine what troop comp you would need to 100% a base. just imagine how big the bases would need to be to keep us entertained.

I think also they cost way too much and give way to low damage at lvl1 and then the insane upgrade costs for silly 10dam more... its just crazy and not worth it.

i love my xbows best looking defences in game imo especially at lvl 3 and 4 ♥♥♥♥

but they have masses of hp, so they'll be live and kicking for 2-3x as long as an archer tower

True, the cheapest thing ever is hidden tesla even though the wait time is ridiculous. So many ridiculous things in CoC, and don't even make me start on heroes and walls.

Lvl 1 are pea shooters, but at lvl 3/4 they are a formidable defence.

Also, you shouldn't just consider dps, time to kill on is a crucial factor of xbows when taking on tier 1 troops.

Same as when an archer or a barb being heal by a heal spell, that time to kill factor really help the enemy....

Archer tower are five mil, too, and that's not the max level for them.

If you think carefully, xbow dps is better when comparing to slow firing defense, ie archer tower. It doesn't waste so much time to kill that last few hps with high damage hit.

For same reason, high level tesla which can one hit kill archer, do almost double rate dmg compared to same dps rated archer tower.

I consider the Xbows overrated cuz In most high lvl gameplay, they lock on on golems and take 7 years to kill them.
Theyre good against tier 1-2 troops I guess

Im only at th7, but have won battles against premmie th10's and tbh, xbows are only good after being upgraded. I had about 20 level 4 archers and they destroyed a level 6 wall while a level 1 xbow is shooting at them and proceeded to destroy it and keep going like nothing happened. I was sitting there like :| well xbows suck

No they are not. When I was pushing to crystal I could easily take out a th guarded by two x bows with ease

x-bow still very good defense building and very useful at stopping WB and cc lure when set at ground with max range. It is just not really worth the hype i guess.

Look at them this way: They have so much range that they are a constant 50 dps each on the attacking army for most of the battle.

Just like any defensive structure, it is weak at it's first level. At max, it is good. But what makes it amazing, is when it is paired with the rest of your max defenses.

You wouldn't attack someone with max witches, max wizards, max wall breakers, and level 1 golem. The golem would die in a matter of seconds.

Also, the xbow has very low waste shot. Unlike other weapons, such as an archer tower or cannon, where it can already have fired another shot at a target it killed the shot before.

Not to mention a mortar which can fire, whilst the troops run far away from the mortar blast well before it lands.

Why you remind me of my pain, i used my lvl 1 golem with my lvl 5 wizards, and just say golem disappointed me, XD.

When my xbows to lvl 3 I hardly ever saw a tier 1/2 army attack. Those that did attack didn't get very far. Hogs did but that was a couple of nerfs ago.

I certainly didn't have anyone using a load of heal spells to occupy the xbows on a tier 1 army. Even if you could get that to work, the heals come to an end and then the xbow will rip through a tier 1 army. What are the mortars doing when you're doing this?

The thing about all defense structures that i noticed, is that mine are weak whereas my enemies' are strong, even though they are of the same level.

Rule of thumb to playing CoC:
army A fail to 3 stars a base, he need to be buff.
army A 3 stars a base, he need to be nerf.
same army A fail to 3 stars enemy base, but 3 stars my base...... nerf enemy army A but buff my army A.... SC really needs to implement this option to buff your army with gems and nerf enemy defend with gems.... So, the game can become the war of gems
I posted the exact same thing in another thread, but i guess it also apply here. I really should save this in notepad and use it every time someone ask for a nerf

All players when they get to a certain lvl should be able to take down bases with xbows. That doesn't mean they are not powerful defences.

X-bows, like all defences, are good at what they are good at. You get versatility of longer ground range and still pretty long air/ground range and the quick time to kill. At lvl 3/4 they rip through many troops with ease.

I've wrecked bases with max infernos, does that mean they are not formidable defences?

Just wait until you upgrade to lvl 12 lol, it cost 7.5 million each. I got of all them up in 1 month and a half.

7.5 mil gold to get max archer tower is still better than 7.5 mil elixir to get 2 more dps on max archer, XD

they good vs farmers and farmers are the ones after your loot. xbows are real good because they clean up the tier 1 troops quick after tier one troops get hit with mortar etc. also they have good health and keeps troops in same place for a bit to get hit by your splash. they really good.

One of the best things about xbows is the HP, those things can take some really good hits, saving you from destruction sometimes. As OP says not much more than an archer tower, but the shots are small and many, so an xbow wastes almost no dps.

tbh, the best thing i like about xbow is the 14 range, when you have two and set them a few tiles away from each other, you have your entire base cover and it really good for taking out WB and make it difficult for enemy to pull cc troop.

I know right id be attacking someones base and my troops barely get to the loot and im like wow why those defenses so strong. Then someone attacks me and im like what the heck how his troops just walking through those gold cannons.

Most the time it can be troop level difference but we will see because im about to get level 6 giants and those things always seemed to be super strong when attacking my bases. They better feel strong when im attacking with them lol.

X-bow= Glorified archer tower that eats up elixir. The best part of it is scaring off attackers IMO

Send in an attack that has any low HP troops (barbs, archers, goblins, wizards, minions..) and you will understand their usefulness.

I know Xbows are a pain in the ♥♥♥ when barching

yep i hate farming bases with xbows because they eat up all my tier 1 troops. I have to overwhelm them with spells to get the loot they are protecting.
