I have thought of an actual decent way of gaining loot pretty easily but to a certain limit in single player. Right now you attack a single player base and once you beat it and take all the loot. You can no longer get anymore loot from it. What if every time you won the loot was deducted? For example, say you win for the first time and get the full amount of loot. On the other hand the second time you get 75% of the loot and so forth. Currently I am on "choose wisely", my reward is 150k of each resource (other than dark elixir). If I win the second time from the original I would then win 112500k of each resource. This would allow people to have an easy way of gaining loot but not allowing them to absolutely abuse this, and allow a stable limit. (I'm not saying those percentages have to be the exact numbers but it's just a thought, anything would work to the limit of it not being over powered.)
