What are some things you guys thought about the game when you first downloaded it that in hindsight seem ridiculous or just flat out silly?
I remember wondering for weeks if I would ever randomly get attacked by troops that came from the woods because there were little paths. I also thought that at a higher level I would be upgraded to a better plot of land haha
Thinking giants were useful...

Hmm for me it's thinking that having over level 8 walls means you bought gems.
i used to thing wallbreakers where amazing clan castle troops and donate all the time. i also thought i be maxed out th8 in a month that did not happen.

That once you got defeated in defense once you would have to start over and build it all again. Then I looked at top player to see if he was protecting his builder huts because those would cost gems to rebuild after each defense loss.
When I thought collectors were OK as my (almost) sole source of income.
Edit: That was all the way up to TH6 :|
I thought I had to keep everything inside walls.
Buildings stop troops like wall breakers. You can't spawn troops on obstacles and they also act as walls
