I made a few changes from the original. Town hall is in range of the mortar, archer tower, and cannon on East side. Barb king is in center. Dark drill is on North side, gold storage from center moved to South.

Swap your gold and elixir storage positions.
I'm guessing that you are either an under leveled town hall 8 or just got attacked by someone much higher because I have never been 3 starred in Gold 1Quote:

I would put as much stuff on that side to prevent people from spawning over there. Also move your town hall all the way in the corner. I have been using this layout for 2 months hovering between 1100 and 1400 trophies and never been 3 starred. Not even in clan wars. Only 2 starred on 2 or 3 occasions.!
