Help with war, hogs, etc... at TH7

Hi all.
I am new to the forum and was hoping someone could give me some advice or help with war. I am currently almost a maxed th7.

obviously with the update ppl are having issues with hogs. My experience in war, prior to the update, was I could easily pull hero (mainly barb king at my lvl), and cc troops with no issues and then drop 30 hogs along with heal spells to clean the base. For many wars I could 3 star th7, th8, and sometimes th9 (low lvl bases). Since the update the best I have gotten was 2 stars on a th8. I will be the first to admit that dropping hogs in the past really didn't take skill on my part and I feel like I took an easy win with no real understanding of attack strategy...but that is why I am here now. I know I need to try something new and work on my skills.

Besides the 10 dragon, rage spell attk (which I feel is the same as my old hog attk, doesn't make me work on learning any true skill in the game) can anyone give me some war attack advice, strategy, things I need to work on as a player?

Again I am just trying to work on my skill, or lack of skill, it has been very frustrating to be the guy that could get 3 stars to now lucky to get 1 or 2 stars.

As a TH7 there's not much more you can go with in war. It's war, you're not supposed to be experimenting too much, just get stars for your clan at pretty much any cost. Mass dragons with rage is the way to go.

I feel like the options for TH7 are very limited aside from hogs and mass drags, though I got to TH8 just a couple weeks after the CW update, but I used mass drags.

Thank you for the comments. I figured there wasn't much besides dragon rage but at least wanted to see if others thought different.

Yea I'm 75% TH7 right now, pretty much I go 6 Drags, a few arch/barb to pull cc, and Giant Healer to do some work. And some wbks for those giants of course. Usually works if you get a drag for attack donation.

Mass drags at th 7 is unstoppable (against opposing th 7s). Don't even bother with anything else. Just drags and rage. It's what my lower level clanmates have been doing for the past 20 wars.

Gi-healer is a cheaper option for war. I use it all the time

Use hogs strategically, try your best not to find a GB if u do.. your pretty much screwed.. It can be easy to run into one. Usually GB's are in the 1st or 2nd layer of the base.

Yeah thats what I was trying death village. I try to drop a couple hogs just to trigger any gb's. Problem is when they are in center or next layer after triggering first gb. Hope to get to TH8 soon. Maybe try low lvl gowiwi attks. Idk.
