New building: academy
The new building is the academy, very similar to labratory, or maybe even just add the below features to the laboratory
Technologies:
Lvl 1 academy 1 mil elixir
Construction
decreases build time for all projects by 2.5% per lvl, max lvl is 5 for a 12.5% bonus, each lvl takes increasing amounts of gold and or elixir
Lvl 2 academy 1.8mil elixir
Projectiles
Each upgrade increases defensive buildings and ranged units range by .25 tiles, max lvl is 5 for max range increase of 1.25 tiles, (it's up to supercell if this affects the mortars blind spot or not, if this is ever implemented)
Lvl 3 academy 2.5 mil elixir
Military science
Each upgrade decrease troop training time by 2.5%, max lvl 5 for max 12.5% decrease
Lvl 4 academy 4 mil elixir
Engineering
Increases health of walls and defensive buildings by 2.5% max lvl 5 for maximum 12.5% increase
Lvl 5 academy 6mil elixir
Privateering
Increases the amount of loot that can be stolen from storages by 1.5% per lvl, max lvl 5 for a 7.5% increase in looting capability
Lvl 6 academy (final lvl) 8 mil elixir
Elite training
Each lvl allows you to customize what targets each troop type will attack. You could set barbarians to go after defenses, or balloons to go after resources. any damage multipliers are removed if the targeting AI is changed from original setting
Each lvl of this technology will allow bigger units to be affected
Lvl 1- only 1 housing space size
Lvl 2 5 housing space and under
Lvl 3 10 housing space and under
Lvl 4 20 housing space and under
Lvl 5 25 housing space
Obviously this technology would be very expensive and take very long to complete

Excellent idea. Unfortunately supercell won't because they want all the gem money they can get. Can you blame them?

Yeah I know, that's why I tried to keep the bonuses low, but still worth it. You're right, supercell just wants all the gem money they can get.

When I saw the thread title I was like "jeez not anothere building to upgrade", but after reading the content I think it's a really good idea. The small changes wouldn't make enough difference for people to stop buying gems, and it's nice bonus for people that don't normally buy gems anyway. Good job!

Excellent Idea
I think this is an excellent idea and I appreciate your post. I would like to add, probably thought of and spoken for, being able to increase range of defensive buildings or even rate of attack.

Thanks for the support, like others said, I think the upgrades are enough to have an impact, but not overpowered to make people stop buying gems, which is supercell's whole goal. And who knows, people might buy gems to speed up building the academy or finishing technology upgrades.

Excellent, excellent ideas.
I've been saying CoC needs another Laboratory type building for a while now.
I like that the bonuses are low, but they would make a difference for sure. As well as the fact that the serious players (aka gemmers) would have to spend a load more on these upgrades since they are so expensive. And it wouldn't stop the players from gemming their troops either. No loss of profit for Supercell if they added this.

A very good idea indeed but anything to do with times is just not gonna happen.
not blaming supercell but let's face it they need d revenue from gems and also reducing build times means the time it takes players to max out everything is reduced hence they will stop playing the game earlier.
Also just another reason for new players to run to townhouse level 9.

An ability to "program" your troops would ruin the game.
Set all troops to destroy defenses, and when they're gone, they will get the resources.
This idea has potential, but it needs work.
