Ive recently been trying to get my Barbarian King and I was curious if theyre are any tricks to farming for DE because it seems I can never penetrate enough into someones base to reach they DE storage. Also what trophy range is good for a TH7 to get some nice DE.
* Ive also heard that its easy to get DE from rushed TH9 but I never ever seem to get those.
- Raid with only the intent of looting dark elixir
- Carry 3 zap spells and target people carrying over 1+k (I know this is cheap but if people do it to me, I will do it too)
- Make sure you go for both the drill and storage, look for high level drills since you can take 75% from these buildings
And the obvious things like going for the easy dark elixir targets, upgrading your drill so you can get more contribution from that.. I was able to save up for my first BK upgrade in 3 days by doing this. I was looking for gold too at the time too.
Similar to gold mines and pumps, on the back of the dark elixir drill you can see a little box where then DE is held. If full, and away from defense , 1 archer or goblin for 75 DE and a trophy drop is worth it to me. You have to zoom in full to see it.

Starting with 1400ish you will see mostly TH 8 and TH9, but don't expect for easy pickings. :) The 1600+ cups is a ♥♥ that people from those ranges use to lure suckers in so they have something fresh to farm. :rolleyes:
PS: Don't 3 x lightning strike as it's a coward attack and you would eventually get revenged in the same manner or if you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the right person you would see yourself 3 stared. ;)
Who cares if you get 3-starred, if you took 800 DE with the lightning and their 3 star takes 250 DE from you it's a pretty clear win for your BK fund. Gold/Elix is so easy at TH7 it's not a bad trade to give up ~100k of each for a few hundred DE if you want your king.Quote:

I would highly suggest to just be a lightning thief. :) Procedure as follows:
a.) Prepare 3 Level 4 Lightning Spells
b.) Go to Trophy Range 1,200 to 1,400
c.) Stalk any TH9 with 1,800+ DE in their storage (preferably those with low level storage)
d.) Drop all 3 Lightning spells on the storage
Rinse & Repeat every 3 hours. Finding the right TH9 should be easy since you will have a +50% loot bonus modifier.
Alternatively, you can try a Pseudo-Dragon strategy:
a.) Prepare 4 Dragons, 24 Archers, 16 Giants, 8 Wallbreakers
b.) Go to Trophy Range 1,100 to 1,300
c.) Find any TH7 to TH9 with at least 500+ DE in their storage (again, preferably those with low level storage)
d.) Additional requirement: the target should have his air defenses at the outside of his base or easily accessible via wallbreakers + giants (TH7 or TH8 is better since they will only have 2)
e.) Take out the Air Defenses, once down, spam 4 dragons aimed at the DE Storage
Rinse & Repeat every 42 minutes.
Either method will work without fail. :)
