How do I save up ..??

My "dead horse" thread.

It's not that the loot is so poor (and it is), but for me it's that I can't save for an upgrade except through boosting and war loot.

If you want to make 90% of my raid yeild less than 100K, that's fine, but I can't take 300K losses in between each 100K raid. The amount I gain in a raid should be proportional to the amount I stand to lose because I raided.

Something needs to change. Perhaps a shield that stays up for 4 hours whether or not I attack again - I don't know, but the game is just borderline unplayable for me. Right now I'm either boosting barch, doing war with a shield, or not playing. When my current batch of gems runs out and I can no longer boost ... I don't know.

Sounds like someone needs a new base design. :rolleyes:

I'll add this though. No matter what I do, there's going to be someone out there that can still smoke me. When I'm trying to save 7M for an upgrade, I become that "lucky find" that everyone posts to their clan mates. That's OK, say once a day, but I've had it happen several times a day between armies. And the problem is I can "Next" for an hour and not find a 300K base for myself.

Before I tell you what's wrong with this base, because there are a few flaws and issues to it that need to be fixed... Please answer these questions.

1.) Where are your traps? Could you possibly get me a pic of your base with traps?

2.) What are you getting raided with? What army composition?

Farm at 1500-1600 for the same results (except DE). If you don't want to raid in sessions then max your defenses.

Happen to me this afternoon. Loose 1 mil in one hour. Get raided 3 times and each loose more than 300k. That time i was saving 5 mil for cc upgrade. You just need to keep raiding and log off as few times as possible.

Solution - Use an army that trains faster and stay on for more attacks. Yes, losing 300k per raid is unsustainable, but if you stay on for 3-5 raids and earn 1 mil, then losing 300k still sucks but you are making a profit.

Lower your trophies for the best loot

Traps are pretty simple. Double big bombs on the "wide" part of outer ring, and spring traps on the narrow side. All between two defense units. Teslas on the outside designed to distupt CC pull attempts with hogs. Most common army is giants/breakers/wizard/archer combo.

consider a more robust design, possibly one found in the first 5-10 pages of this thread that people recommend and have used with much success.

If you prefer your own designs, then at least get that spell factory out of the middle of your base. It is taking up PRIME real estate there, and it is a completely useless building. Maybe move your CC to the center (making it tougher to lure), and move your heroes closer to the core possibly.

raid in sessions, make use of shields - i.e. only break a shield if you have 1-2hr to raid.

I enjoy full storages thus I am usually 6m gold and 6m elixir...since I am only TH8, most TH9 can clean me out nicely (take 300k each gold and elixir). So my strategy is to leave TH outside and hope for snipers. About 80% of the people that raid me take TH, 15% go for TH and 1-2 storages. The other 5% (always TH9 & 10) always level my entire base.

Go farm at lower cup range ;)

design your base so that it protects resources only. upgrade your walls. upgrade all the small upgrades you can then do the big upgrades when you are able to save enough. boost barracks only to get the last few million you need.
