I have 81 level 9, 4 level 10 and the rest are level 8.
I have 5 archer towers left, 2 ad, 3 Tesla, 3 small bombs.
I was planing to upgrade 3 Tesla and 3 small bombs at the same time with the town hall and have one builder free to do walls, 3x14=42 walls minimum will be done.
Should I get all the walls first before I go 10?
P.s. I still got all 4 barracks at level 9, 3x6=18walls
Level 8s should be ok at TH10. If you want though those level 9s would be intimidating when you get TH10

That will take me forever though, there ain't many buildings left to upgrade, I will have all 5 builders free which is always a way to slow me down. I will try to get all the walls to 9, 10 is just too much, I will do that once I maxed th10.Quote:

I left 3/5 builders sleeping for over a month just to finish all lvl 9 walls before upgrading to TH10. It's up to you really. I felt lvl 9 walls was as far as I was willing to go on leaving 3 builders sleeping. Waiting for lvl 10 walls would have been 3-4 months additional for me, at the rate I farm gold, so for me personally, upgrading to TH10 after all lvl 9 walls was the right choice for me. My heroes are between lvls 15-20. If you can get your heroes both to lvl 20+ before upgrading to TH10, that's quite helpful.

Besides the fact that the stronger the wall, the more hits it takes to break down giving your defenses more time to fire away at them, it takes THREE max level WBs to break through. Every level of wall before lvl 10 takes only 1 or 2 max level WBs to break down. This is a fairly big strategic advantage, can be the difference between 2 or 3 stars against a gowiwi attack.Quote:

I feel conflicted, I know that lvl 9 walls will make my maxed 9 base much more durable and will ease my defenses once I get to TH10.
Since the farming is much easier at 9; my usual diet of TH8s will be off the table for farming (but maybe not trophies.. heh heh) once I get to TH10, so I have a couple legitimate reasons to stay a while longer in TH9 (Royals and Walls).
but 2-3 sleeping builders AND an idle lab; its hard to justify that for staying at TH9 ONLY for walls to lvl 9..considering the gold grab needed to max walls (Billion!) when Ill get a third drill to help with the Dark income too and grow the Royals there too...

in the end, lvl 8 really is good enough for me and my style, maybe not the best, but will be good enough with max TH9s array of turrets.. and once I get my Infernos going life will be easier (esp with the Big-Bomb on Hogs dmg boost)
Ill give it a couple weeks maybe a month, but I don't see myself staying to max legos..

Thats what I did and it works out quite well. Level 10 are great but I didn't want to farm lvl 10 walls for months so i just did the core. Finished the core in about 2 weeks. Not everyone can just grind out walls for months like vinny lol. Great job btw!
with two well placed lvl1 infernos and all skull walls, you will already be deterring a great deal of serious attackers, leaving way for premies to snipe your TH and give you cheap shields.
Yes, you will likely be able to survive just fine at TH10 without having lego or lava walls initially, especially if you aren't trophy pushing yet.
for me personally, I wanted the strength and intimidation of all lego walls before hitting TH10, plus I was finishing off some DE upgrades in my lab as well as trying to get both heroes to lvl 15+, so I had good enough reasons to stay TH9.
If you don't see yourself staying at TH9 to grind out lego walls, you will survive just fine as a TH10 if you aren't trophy pushing into masters and above.
From of of you guys, I should get all walls to 9 and core to 10.
It will delay my schedule but I will try it!!! From what I'm reading th10's loot sucks so I guess it would be better this way, grinding for walls right now is already painful enough, don't want more pain ;(

Lvl 8 I guess should be good. I think lvl 9 can resist more wallbreaker blasts though. Maybe get your core compartment to walls lvl 9 before or as you upgrade.
