Upgrade your defenses.
The game is win and lose. Sometimes people take your loot, sometimes you take theirs.
Look where they attack from and work out some way to trick them into putting their wiz in a clumpb to bombs
Wizards hate giant bombs. Place them well
If you are new to TH9, with loads of loot, and a TH9/TH10 with loads of giants and wizards and spells and heroes finds you and wants your gold and DE, well chances are good they will pay the high price and take them. There's not a lot you can do if your defenses are still mostly TH8 level.
Ideally, your base moves the giants around the outside, and your xbows and tesslas in the core destroy the wizards when they move forward, however good use of spells and heroes, and weak defenses, means this isn't guaranteed. Even level 3 xbows and level 7 tessla won't necc. do the job, if the attacker throws a really heavy army at you.
Just get out there and raid lots, then spend asap to upgrade defenses...
