How does a TH9 get 3 stars now?

Honestly, I would really like to know how a th9 can get 3 stars against another TH9 in clan war now. With hogs being worthless now and heros being brick walls on defense how in the world do you get 3 stars? I'm a maxxed out th9 with level 25 heros and I use to dominate th9's in clan war, now I'm losing with a 41 hog raid getting 2 stars and 90% because giant bombs and heros... Come on supercell... really? Worst update ever in my opinion. Anyone care to voice their thoughts? I'm really disappointed in the game developers on this, th9 just became incredibly weak offensively.

I'm about halfway maxed th 9, expect walls, and I three star other th 9 everywar. in the last war that just finished last night i took out two th 9. Its not that hard.

One word: Dragons

those relying on hogs .. r getting No where by now ... not out problem the defenders dont have an anti-Hog base

id suggest u use GOWIPE or GOWIWI

Why should you expect to get 3* is my question? If someone works very hard on their TH9 defensively it should be near impossible for another TH9 to get 3* on them imo. Mass dragons should get slaughtered by any reasonable TH9 base design. The only way a TH9 should be defeated with drags is by having a terrible base design.

If your opponent has a great TH9 base work on getting a good 2* on them. Anything from Loons, drags, giant/wiz blitz, or GoWi__ armies will get you this with a bit of planning... and if they don't have hog traps then give hogs a go. I've still had a 3* vs a TH9 in our last CW. They are not dead against designs with no traps for them.

Not a very helpful response. What types of armies are you using?

Hogs have still been working for me. I cut back on the number of hogs i use (28), and upped the number of wizards while bringing one rage for either the wizards or hogs at the core. Its not always a 3 star now, but its been winning me 4-6 stars every war.

Personally I use 40 barbs, 20 giants, and 20 wizards w/ 3 heal spells and one rage spell. Can bring a balloon / hog rider or 2 or 3 to lure the CC if needed and lower the number of barbs / wizards. Start by luring the CC, drop some barbs to tank the CC then quickly switch to drop a few wizards. Remember wizards 1 shot other wizards, so if you do it right a single wizard can kill all of theirs, just gotta get them stacked first and drop a barb to eat their volley. From there, drop your giants to tank, be sporadic on the first couple so if they run into a spring trap you lose 1 instead of 3. Drop the barbs in a fan to kill the outside buildings so when you drop wizards they'll go to the center. Drop half your wizards, and keep the rest in reserve to reinforce as needed. Use heal spells around their wizard towers, and a rage spell once your army gets closer to the middle and starts getting fire form the majority of their defenses. Watch how your army moves through their base, and drop wizards on the sides as needed to reinforce and pick off towers that are already targeting other units. I've been able to 2 or 3 star th9's regularly doing this... but it takes a bit more strategy than just dropping 40 hogs at the start =)

I have had Hog success using witches, wbs and a few wizards to distract heroes after baiting CC. Get the troops in the core by clearing some outside buildings much like GoWiWi first. Spot where the empty Big Bomb spaces are and drop heal overlapping the spot before hogs step on them. They need to be near full health when they trigger big bombs to be safe.
