I'm already in the process of upgrading to th8 do you think it was the right decision

I have maxed out defenses except air defense 5

What lvl are your walls?

Is that EVERYTHING maxed. Walls, defs, hero?. All except AD's? If so then I would say you should be fine. After you get lvl 5 troops farming is easy. There is a massive difference between lvl 4 and lvl 5.

Even if you are a bit premmie, TH 8 is ok to go premmie to since there is not a lot of change between TH 7 and 8 loot wise.

you'll be good either way. TH 8 is pretty much similar loot as TH 7 if you can raid TH 7s. Don't move on to 9 without maxing 8 though, it'll be a big pain.
