optimal war castle troops?

Our goto troop for clan castle has been lvl 6 wiz or lvl 4 dragon...usually wizards.

Q. Is it better to have all archers and just 2 or 3 wizards because it's harder to drain the castle and the troops move at different speeds giving the wizards a greater chance to actually engage the enemy.

A good lure re can bunch a group of wizards pretty easy and destroy them with wizards of their own pretty easily.

Feel free to elaborate on your opinion of the best war castle troop composition. And if your in a war clan with a great record, please state let us know.

mostly archers and a couple wizards seems to be an effective balance of making it tough for the enemy to lure, but also to have some good DPS at the back of the CC lure line. And it's cost effective for donating.

For richer clans, integrate a witch into the mix.

I stick with the arch/wiz donations - because both can target air and ground, and wiz because of the splash damage.

We have some in the clan that donate dragons and L6 giants to certain people. I don't see the point in donating giants since they are slow and can't target incoming dragons and balloons. Dragons? I'm okay with that, but I'd rather have 5 L3+ wizards. Either can be drawn out and destroyed fairly quickly with a relatively small group of archers.

i think a witch, with 2 wizs, and rest archers is optimal...

witches are a pain to deal with, archers help make it a pain to lure, and wizs do nice dmg to all enemies....

i also like valks in war cc, but if they come at you with air raiding, ur valks are useless.

Has anyone seen Valks on defense since the new AI change? Only seen her on offense run into a pack of archers and kill them all in 1 hit

I find wizards mixed with archers to be a big pain to deal with

A witch is good because they walk very slowly

We utilize a combo of Lvl 5 Archers and wizards, or Dragons and wizards depending on quantity.


Our our clan, Sun Tzu's Bell is currently 14-2 in wars with our two losses by a total 4 points.
