Cw: a player had 20 hogs killed with one giant bomb...I thought they would make the ud harder not impossible. They need to tweek the tweek. This game has been a blast why change anything. I dont need defense, create more offensive troops. Lower the kings range too....thoughts
Lvl 4&5 hogs were crazy overpowered before the update. While I was a TH 8, I could put 2 giant bombs together and if someone attacked me with lvl 5 hogs, it wouldn't take them out if they had full health. You may be right that they overcompensated by making the giant bombs a bit too devastating to hogs though...
We have tried to adjust to the update with some success. Hog raiding is more difficult, but not completely dead. Sending in single hogs to scout out and detonate possible giant bombs, and sending them in four separate groups so a large number of them don't get destroyed like you describe are modifications that have helped. I am sure others with a lot more skill and experience than I have will have more to say...Quote:

I'm not a big fan of Hogging, namely because I can easily Barch 250/250 bases with relative ease at Th9 and save the 1.4k de (Hog army) for Hero upgrades, but anti-Hog bases and smartly placed bombs/springs meant that the only real issue was level 5 Hogs (arguably 4 too)... I agree with others, it seems a little ott now - Big Bombs do x1.5 damage? Drop it to x1.3 in my opinion.
Supercell why do you make it so there are walls? Please take out the walls too so I can use something other than hogs. While you're at it please take out Air Defense, Mortars, Canons and Archer Towers. You can leave the rest. The game is now too hard and these changes I propose will make it easier for me to be leet.Quote:

I consider myself an experienced hogger... since the update in clan wars using hogs, I'm 10/12 for stars - 3 100% wipes and 1 50% (and it wasn't hog use, but a good base setup for why I didn't wipe the 4th). And to give you some perspective, I have a th10 with 240 troops, maxed hogs and heal spells, and have been attacking non-premature th9 bases (usually the top 3 th9's in the opponent's clan).
All the update to the big bombs did was make me think a little more about where the double bombs could be.
And in fact, one of my 3 star wipes was against a village that did have double bombs right near the townhall - took out about a 3rd of my hogs, but I had enough to finish off the base - the hogs were released in 4 different groups focusing on wiz towers, with an initial "feeler" hog in 3 different "potential double bomb" locations. And also with this particular base, I had to lure the cc by sending in hogs with heals in one area which potentially contained double bombs.
So hogging is not dead... it's just requires more planning(and a bit of luck in some cases).

This, 100%. Regardless of what you might think, your using hogs did not require skill. Find a weak spot, deploy, healing spells near wizard towers. Now, you'll have to actually plan your raids.Quote:

But 20 hogs killed from 1 giant bomb is ridiculous and stupid. I don't use hogs much, but thats just stupid, And I think it should be changed.
The clans need a better and more defined rank structure within the clan (leadership ranks).
Clan leader should be able to pick who goes to battle (would help skip players that might be away during war and such).
Only clan leader and Co Leaders should be able to kick other members.
for low level hogs against high level bombs, I don't think it's ridiculous. It's a learning lesson, that someone with low level hogs should not attack a base with potentially very high level giant bombs.Quote:

Except the lack of skill needed for success simply switched from the attacker to the defender. The hero update alone would have made hogging a bit more balanced. Even after trying to sniff them out 1-2 giant bombs alone, as in by them self, taking out nearly an entire raiding army is OP no matter how you want to try an argue it.Quote:

In response to the original poster...don't freaking spam your hogs lol. I'm TH7, and when I do a hog attack I spread them out in an even line along the place I want to attack...similar to the balloon attacks...I use around 20 hogs or so...I'll usually send 12, let them make it as far as they can, then send the rest from the opposite way.
Also, use goblins/archers/wbs to test for bombs at the place you want to send your hogs for big bombs before you drop them.

This is game is about strategy. Try something different and learn from your findings.
Like the guy stated above me....don't throw your hogs down in one place...also, don't initially attack near empty spaces within the walls.
I'm TH7 with level 2 hogs and I absolutely destroy TH8s with a hog wiz combo (I'll this down like 8-10 minions too)
The key is to use archers as feelers, then throw down your hogs in a line, not spam them. My last 9 attacks w this strategy has given me 450k+ in loot every attack, and I'm at Gold 3. My best attack was 710k in total loot.
And yes, I farm with this or loonions. BARCHING has no skill involved either, and with BARCHING, especially when you go up against higher town halls than yourself, you're basically searching for a base with full mines on the outside. Me? I want all that good stuff in the middle, and I won't attack a base unless there is almost 400k in loot. Takes me about 5-10 mins to find one...but I found I make more on this one base than I would if I did 3 BARCH attacks within the hour, also, it leaves me to do other things and not just sit on my phone all day and do weak ♥♥♥ nickel and dime attacks.
BARCH= low risk low reward, high maintenance.

Maybe like the spring trap maybe they can add a cap to how many candie to a bomb, like cap,of 10 hogs per giant bomb
I am fairly new in using hogs, I've always been a fan of dragons. They haven't failed me and been solid strong and survived all the previous updates. I still however want tp love hogs a chance just to have an alternative troop to attack with but O guess I started getting interested when its too late. Its abit hard using hogs now. Yet its not dead I believe. Ill max them before I train.
Yes I'm happy with the change to the bombs, however I didn't complain about the hogs. I like when people who can't adapt to the new environment come and give me all that bacon LOLQuote:

On a serious note I only got my hogs to lvl 4 before the update so I am just an average hogger at the moment but I have seen good hoggers still doing work. Need more hogs than before to send in different waves/groups and for testing for GB.
And I have seen spammers get fried by a single lvl 3 giant bomb because they took damage from xbow/wiz tower prior to running into it before the person dropped heal spell.
Heal spells placement in the case of single giant bombs now is just as important as pre-update dropping on double GB. Especially if your bacon makers are not maxed.
