I've seen some pretty HQ pictures of ingame bases, and compared to my own, it looks quite a bit better.
I am currently playing on a Galaxy tablet II.
Are there any difference in graphics depending on the platform or the capacity of your tablet/phone?

The game resolution stays the same at 640x800, regardless of the device. That said, some devices will have a higher contrast ratio or ways to manipulate the color settings. But, the resolution remains the same. The larger the screen, the more pixilated the images will become.
There are some videos online that show you how to adjust it when running through a Mac/PC, but running it on anything other than a portable device violates the TOS and could result in you getting banned.
Settings (phone, not game) > Display > Brightness > Turn off "Adapt to lighting conditions"
This will make your game brighter, and more vibrant. It made a pretty big difference for me.
As far as contrast goes, i cant find anything. There are many apps that can turn DOWN the contrast, but none that increase the contrast or sharpness.

Well the iphone has 330 pixels per inch while the gs5 has 430 pixels per inch.
My friends gs5 looks a lot better than my 5s, so maybe that's it?
